Mysterio

Split a 5 pack sampler with my buddy Drew, I got 3 and he got 2 (Cause Im just a better fella than Drew).

These are good looking cigars, pretty enough to frame or smoke. 7 x 54 classic figurado, with a cute little bee maduro beehive/pigtail at each end. Never seen that before, so I cut both beehives off before lighting (chicken). The looks plus the fact that the Gomez crew can make some pretty good cigars (Litto Gomez, Ligero, and Double Ligero lines) is what prompted me to shell out $15/gar for this little experiment.

The gars arrived and uh oh, one of them had the wrapper unraveling (I promptly selected that one to send to Drew). I let the cigars sit for a week and lit my first gar. The wrapper proceeded to split from the heat, so the cigar gets an F for construction in this taste test. Ill lower the humidity way down to smoke the other two, but I dont like cigars you have to baby. The maker can select wrappers to fit my humidor, not the other way around.

In spite of the split, the cigar burned fine all the way down. (I fussed with the splits while smoking, and they didn't ruin the smoke).

The taste was very satisfying, mild to mild/medium bodied, long on the finish and tasted like good quality tobacco. The was a little peppery flavor from the sumatra binder, and I kept tasting nuts while smoking. I dunno what kind of nuts, but some kind of nutty flavor.

No great change in the flavor, just a consistant enjoyable experience. I got bored after about 45 minutes and tossed the last 2 or 3 inches.

Overall this is a very good cigar, a novelty. Pound for pound I would reccomend the LFD corona gorda over this one and enjoy the online pictures of the Mysterio rather than buy them.

I had the Mysterio before it was even released. I found it to be extremely mild and not much there. Plus, the cigar is just really cool to look at than serve any real purpose. I'm hoping that with age, they may get better like every LFD I've had that has had over 1 year+ put on them.

Awesome review Blade. Sounds like I am in for a nice change of pace compared to the ass kicking I get from the LFD Lanceros that I have been smoking. I just got it today, and will let it sit for a couple days before I spark one up give and my review. Sounds like on will die a firey death, while the other will stay as a 'humidor decoration'
