Hello All,
I am new to the board and have been lurking around for a short while; trying to answer some cigar-related questons on my own before making my first post. I'm currently in college and have occupied my free time getting into the cigar world. However, I have been somewhat limited to the selection offered by the local tobacco shop. I recently began ordering sticks online in order to sample many different cigars (I currently have a box of Indian Tabac classic chiefs that I am very happy with).
Being a college student, I'm always looking to get a good deal on cigars. CI is offering 1876 Reserves at nearly $1 per sitck. I've had one before and remember it being mild, but pretty decent (quality construction, good draw, etc.). Any opinions on this brand? Also, has anyone tried the Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 Seconds that the online shops are offering these days?

Welcome!! While I've never smoked the RP 2nds, those who like the regular RPs say the seconds are very good so try 'em out, you don't have much to lose.

So you guys got Carolina home this year, huh? How in HELL did you lose to Va Tech?

No offense but CockyHoskins converted me to a Gamecock fan last year so I gotta root against you on November 25th. I know you'll be 9-2 and in the hunt for a nice bowl bid but watch out for those Cocks!

you seem to be off to a good start trying different samplers. that's the way to go until u find a cigar you absolutely cant be without, and that's when u buy a full box. btw dont take these old farts to heart, or u will get ur feeling hurt

I'll be watching those Gamecocks alright...watching them get beat by the Tigers for the fifth year in a row. But I could talk about football all day and that's for a different message board.
As far as cigars go, I've been smoking The Edge by Rocky Patel pretty frequently and I'm convinced it's the best smoke for the money.

If you like the Edge try the Omar Ortez Originals, I had one of those instead of an Edge 2nd, since the place near me had sold out

and I was very very impressed. Slightly more affordable, too.

cockyhoskins who's a member here runs Cocky Talk which is a damn good USC sports site. They have a couple of special forums for the Tiger fans, "Smack Talk" and another one where the Clemson fans can "roar about the Clemson Tigers."

Ya oughta check it out, it's mostly all in good fun

but of course you'll always have a couple of people that go overboard.
