    Default and so it begins.....

Apparently control of Congress is now down to the Senate race in Virginia. Webb (D) has a ~9000 vote lead. I hope things get settled in the next few days so we can move on and begin mending the wounds. Interesting outcome to the election.

It's really time for a change in the Iraq policy. I think we need to be there...But we also need to start giving more control to the newly elected government there. Time to let them start sinking or swimming.

    Rumsfeld needed to go.

Rumsfeld was only one head on the "Hydra of Stupidity" that runs our government.

The best idea would be to not have attacked Iraq in the first place. Saddam didn't have WMDs. There was no Iraq/Al Quida connection. Colin Powell tried to warn us, but nobody was listening back during the "let's waste us some A-Rabs" phase of our post 9/11 world.

Sadly, Iraqis would probably be better off if we put Hussein back in power and withdrew.

All we've managed to do is start a civil war.

Iraq is probably going to Balkanize anyway, so let's make Jordan a player in Iraq. Jordan is the only government in the region that isn't completely crazy. Jordanian peacekeepers on the ground who SPEAK ARABIC would be a better fit than Americans tear-assing through the desert in under-armored Hum-Vees.

They need a new objective - like kill the militias. Saddam's gone, so they should be the new target. Gates is cool, we are much better off.
    End of line.

CNN was saying something about two people will actually do the job that Rummy was doing. Why didn't he just hire a deputy like all the other Defense Secretaries have done?

    priceless!!!

    The Unknown
    As we know,
    There are known knowns.
There are things we know we know.
    We also know
    There are known unknowns.
    That is to say
We know there are some things
    We do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns,
    The ones we don't know
    We don't know.

I don't think people on this bb "get their panties in a bunch" when they see posts like that - they tend to get pretty upset when they see people being COMPLETELY obnoxious and incredibly disrespectful in expressing their views...

IOW, if their feelings get hurt (I believe some here refer to it as "butt hurt"), which is really common for some people here.

I have no idea what you're trying to say, Barry...

Could you please write it out in plain English so everyone can understand it?? You are, after all, the absolute expert on this subject - given your penchant for wadding up panties.
