Thread: Hygrometer toruble

    Default Hygrometer toruble

I recently purchased a 125 count humidor off of eBay that came with a humidifier and an analog hygrometer. I did the wet towel test and it only read 80% instead of 96% like it should. However, I can't properly calibrate the hygrometer because it has no screw on the back to adjust the dial. Is there another way to calibrate it or do I need to buy a new (digital) hygrometer?

I'm not familiar with the towel test. Below is the guide that helped me.

Analog hygrometers are usually off. The one that came with my humidor is off by 5%. I purchased a round digital hygrometer from heartfelt, it's adjustable and works great. I would recommend. Pick up some beads while you're there too.

I highly recommend a digital Hygrometer. My analog hygro is off by 10%. It's just added peace of mind having one!

So after seasoning my humidor, should I even bother using the humidifier that came with it or shoyld I just use beads?

Just use the beads. They are a complete humidification system.

Hmmm.... I know my original post was edited and, I am assuming it was all in fun, but that's the 2nd time I've been accused of being racist. Is there something that I should know?
