My little brother's wife is half Filippino. Her mom was born and raised there and they have plenty of family there including an uncle who owns a resort on a lovely little island off the main one. Little brother and his wife have been there once (to her uncle's resort) and last year his mother-in-law brought him back a box of Flor de Filipinas - Londres 5.5 ", gauge 42 If memory serves me, they were a decent cigar. Medium body with a good flavor. It's been a while though since I had one.

If you're interested, the following website gives some detailed information on the most popular brands they have.

    http://www.philippinesbestcigars.com/

They will ship to Canada, and I suspect to the US too if you find yourself interested enough. I'd order a box or two myself but the taxes here are killer so I'm going to wait patiently......lol........little brother's mother-in-law goes quite regularly to visit family and I believe she's going this year. Next time she does we're going to get her and her ol'man to bring back 4 boxes of cigars, one each of a different brand.

I will definitely let you know what I think when I have one....I may just have one tonight. If not tonight, then certainly this weekend!

Blew a good chunk of my annual cigar budget today

BHK 54 - TEU Dic 10 - These better meet up to the hype ...
Boli PC - LRE Sep 09 - I hope I'm still smoking cigars when these are ready to smoke. I'm guessing 2014.
VR Clasico - ECA-CCNN (Nov 99) - I didn't like the font of the code, but the rest of the stickers looked good and were period correct.

... plus a pound of Cubita coffee - and a Party 8-9-8 to smoke on the drive home.

    (edit, confirmed codes)

I just picked up a box of La Gloria Cubana Inmensos. Let me know what you think of your BHK 54s, I have a box of them aging but have not tried one yet!

Bah. The Boli PC's were damaged so I had to return them. Weird beetle-like munching around some bands on the top row - bottom row was fine. Great customer service from my favourite B&M.

    Picked up:
Por Larranaga Montecarlo's OPM Dic 09 - had one ROTT, smoking very nicely
Trinidad Coloniales OUS Mar 10 - on 'sale,' so I splurged :-)
Partagas Culebras OPM Feb 09 - for herfs and get-togethers.

Some Turquino coffee beans. Great stuff, but pricey.

The coolers are now full, no more cigar purchases for this year!
