I like the Monte #4's and I wager you will too. They're a decent smoke and there's no doubt in my mind those are legit.

So with the changes in restrictions on Cuba, you folks in the US are now able to legally bring Cuban cigars into the US. Is there a limit?? I'm coming down in June and want to bring a few along for the trip. I just don't want to hit the border and find out there's a limit and I'm over it.

I almost spit out my coffee on this one Jamie........thanks for that! I always like it when I can start the day with a good chuckle!

Concerning bringing/smoking Cubans in the US - Who knows what's going on here at any one given moment. One minute it's not okay - then it is - then it's not. Your guess is as good as ours. The official answer is probably not, but I've been back and forth over the border and I sense they're more interested in finding explosives rather than Cuban cigars...

On a recent trip to Victoria, BC I brought back about 15 CC's. I think if you keep it "reasonable" it should not be an issue.

That's kind of what I was thinking.

I'll call the border crossing (US side of course) a week or so before I leave and talk to an actual border crossing agent and find out "for sure" before leaving. I won't be bringing a lot, but I wouldn't mind tossing 3 or 4 Cuban's in the travel humidor.

I did call last year before going and I had to laugh, the border crossing guy told me it was still illegal to bring Cuban's into the US but then said, "Of course, if they have no band on them, they could be from anywhere" LOL

But I won't risk making crossing the border any harder by trying to sneak a Cuban in if it's still illegal. My wife would kill me if I did anything to make it a hassle at the border.

Buddy went to Cuba for 10 days and we babysat their dog. I got him to bring me back some cigars:

    3 x box of 10 - Partagas Series D #4
    1 x box of 25 - RyJ Short Churchill

Got some $$$ saved up for my trip to the US in June to go see my daughter and grandson. I'm thinking a box of Padron 3000 maduro and the rest on Arturo Fuentes!

    Update:
    =====

Called the border crossing where we'll cross and was told I could bring up to 50 Cuban's! I'll be bringing a couple, not 50..........LOL

Back from my annual trip south. Had a great time playing paintball with my 15 yr old grandson and a wonderful trip. Saw some great country and got to spend a few days in a favorite campground of mine (Farragut State Park on Lake Pend Orielle in north Idaho) and almost got to go fishing *sigh* Next year we're planning on staying somewhere on Lake Pend Orielle so I can fish! Apparently they dislike lake trout so much they offer a $15 bounty on them if you turn in their heads. There's walleye in the lake too and no limit on them since they're not an indigenous species. I've never heard of that before either! LOL

Oh, saved up all year for this trip and blew my cigar budget on:

    1 box - Padron 3000 Maduro
    1 box - AF Anejo #48
    1 box- AF Anejo #55
(they didn't have boxes of the shark left and this was the next best thing - terrific cigar btw)

I also picked up a couple samplers of AF cigars to round things out. A Hemingway Classic sampler and an Anejo Shark/#55 sampler. All said and done, I crossed the border with 90 cigars. My budget is now blown now and sadly, I won't be buying any more cigars for a while On the plus side, I have some good cigars to tide me over until I get some more $$$ in my cigar saving account.

Second of three in the CAO Amazon line. First was the Amazon Basin, then Fuma Em Corda, and now they have the Anaconda out. I really like the Amazon Basin. The FEC is not as good in my opinion. Of course I will need to let these rest awhile and then revisit. As the only one I have had was ROTT.
