    Default Snow Day

I hate snow. That is why I moved to Colorado . We got quite a bit of the white stuff yesterday and I knew my drive into Post would be slow. I was right; a 30 minute drive was an hour and a half. I dredded the ride home all day. I picked up a stogie from a local shop (C-Rey Centrifino #11) put the cruise on 40 mph and headed home. The first third was a little dry and not too aromatic. The second third was a little sweeter. The final third made the trip worth while. Sweet, not harsh at all (I am a newbie), and fir in with the cold weather. Next time you are in slow snow traffic. Roll down the window, light a smooth one up, and smile. It's not so bad.

Yeah, we are expecting our first biggie in the Chicago area tomorrow. Should be a fun commute . I'm packing a few cigars for the journey(s). Maybe a candela for the morning and a couple of others for the afternoon. Hmm, need a drink too... I love snow but I hate the traffic. + =

Our little town has the slogan : "Colfax, Above the fog, below the snow".
    This is our town:

But a couple of weeks ago we had fog so thick that I couldn't see my garage which is just 30 yards away from the house.

And last winter we woke up to this:

Oddly enough, that was the day that the big moving van arrived at our house. "Welcome to the mountains!" But the slogan :Colfax, Mostly above the fog and usually below the snow" doesn't sell houses as well.

2 nights ago we had our first freeze. It got down to 29 degrees. This may not sound like much but I moved here from San Diego where it may get down to the 40's at night but it comes right back up into the 60's or 70's during the day.

    It's different here.

HOWEVER, Today it's feeling rather "toasty" with a balmy 42 degrees. I think I may have to sit outside and have a cigar.
