Default Perdomo Estate Seleccion Monstro Cameroon

Smoked a wonderful cigar this weekend thanks to slcraiders generosity in our newbie trade.

This was my 1st experience with the Estate Selection. Here's the write up on it.

The Estate Selection is the pride of Tabacalera Perdomo - the finest cigar they make and to some, among the finest cigars in the world. This premium is comprised of triple fermented long-fillers extensively aged over 5 years. The Estate Selection is a Nicaraguan puro, consisting of an intricate blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos and choice of either a gorgeous Nicaraguan natural rosado or maduro wrapper. After rolling, the cigars are box-pressed and box-aged an additional 14 months. Each is medium to full-bodied, complex and rich with a super-smooth draw.

    My Impressions:

Cigar was nicely manufactured. RG of 60 tapers down to about a 50, 6 1/2" long. Prelight draw was perfect. It lit up easy and even and right from the start had a delicious, what I call base tabacco taste, with what I discribe as woodsy undertones. Initial flavor was medium body and smooth. Throughout the smoke the flavor, at least as far as I could tell, didnt change but only became stronger and creamier. Last 3rd of the stick was more of a full body creamy delicious smoke right down to the nub. I really hated to see this one end. Burn was perfect from beginning to end ash was light gray and well formed. I loved this smoke and will be looking for a 5 pack to confirm what this first smoke was all about.
A girl phoned me the other day and said ... Come on over, there's nobody home. I went over. Nobody was home.

I've had similar experiences with Perdomo Reserve (Cameroon, Champagne, Golf). Excellent flavor, construction, burn, everything. And what I consider to be the Perdomo "signature" - a steady ramping of complex, delicious flavors that evolve slowly and build gradually. You might want to try one of those, boomshay. About 60% of the cost of the Estate Seleccion.

This is the link to the Reserve Cameroon, but the Champagne is excellent as well. The Golf is out of this world, but more expensive than the rest of the Reserve line.

For an even more affordable Perdomo, try the Slow-Aged No. 826 line. Not quite up to the flavor of the Reserve line (or the Estate Seleccion, I would imagine), it is still one of the best smokes you can have for the price.
