    Default Bored in Texas

New scam---There are some people out ther calling folks telling them they are from the court house and that they have a warrant for their arrest for missing jury duty. When people protest that they never received a subpoena the caller the asks them for personal info, to double check if they had indeed had been sent a subpoena ie S.S. number, credit card number etc., etc.. And then you have been had. They are operating in several states.

i got a call from "Sprint" yesterday saying i was getting a new phone.

"I'm with Sprint and I've called to inform you that you are recieving a new phone. Do you currently have a cell phone?"

"Yes, you just called me on it."

"Now Mr. Cook, are you on a pay-as-you-go plan or contract? Pay-as-you-go, right?"

"You should know, you work for Sprint don't you?"

    "Yes"

"Well, then you should know" "Go ahead and tell me the hidden costs."

"Well, Mr. Cook, there is a $39.99 service charge."

"What? Why do I need a new phone, you just called me on mine?"

"Well, Mr. Cook, you can give it to friends or family."

"Ya, and pay $40, for what? I'm already on a contract with you?"

    Conversation Over.

Well if someone is stupid enough to believe that the court clerk needs their credit card number for something and that they give it to them, they pretty much deserved to be focked in the same manner that if they honestly believe that "Barrister" Black Man from Nigeria actually has 50 million dollas in a bank account and all he needs is your bank account number and routing number to help him get the money out of the country and you'll get a cut, once again, ya deserve what ya get.
