    Default An interesting encounter

I thought I would just share this with you guys... I just ran into a guy smoking a Hoyo Dark Sumatra with the Cedar wrap still on, he was smoking through the cedar. The cedar's band was burning and he was smoking paper and wood. After I informed him he gingerly took the blackened thing off and offered the excuse: "well, it tasted pretty good." I was close to collapse in laughter.

Offered him a Cohiba and gave him some advice, he'd also been keeping Cigars without a humidor and was wondering why they would fall apart...

LOL.. My cousins husband was keeping his in the freezer . I made him a homemade Tupperware humidor. Also had to show him how to fill the lighter and light the cigar.

Thats good stuff right there. Some people like to use the cedar wrapper to light the cigar. I guess if you really don't know anything at all about cigars it could be an honest mistake...

At a hookah cafe I am studying for finals at... it feeds my 2-3 sticks a day habit.

I had originally thought he was smoking something with a metal cap on the burning end but it turned out to be burnt shiny paper.

LMAO!! I've heard second and third hand stories like this but never believed them just figuring it was urban legend.

    Guess not!!!

Thanks for the laugh but I guess some people just honestly don't know.

Funny story. Yesterday, I had a cedar wrapped cigar. While standing there smoking (yes I took the cedar off), for grins, I lit the end of the cedar wrapper. It smelled great. Smelled great mingled with the cigar smoke. So I can see how someone would do that.

hahaha awesome. Personally I like to light my cigars with cedar when possible so use it for that, the problem with this is that of course the cedar is humidified as well as the cigar so it doesn't burn so well... keeping a few and drying them out works though.

I do the same thing, I sometimes light the cedar and place it in the ashtray as it smells pleasant. And once in a while, I light my AF double chateaus with the burning cedar for shits and grins.

I keep ceder inserts from the boxes around for that reason. I love the smell of burning cedar. The cedar blocks that come in some boxes are great to add to your fire.
