New member intro

Hello everyone. Just wanted to give a quick intro. Name is Mike. Been smoking cigars for about 15 years now. I enjoy any of the Nicaraguan cigars (Joya de Nicaragua) as long as they are strong, as I enjoy the buzz they give me even now. I don't smoke any of those pansy ass flavored sticks. The occasional Cuban cigars are appreciated when available.

Used to live in the midwest, moved out to California to be near the ocean since I like deep sea fishing trips. Own a venture capital biz catering to the technology industry. Thinking about moving to Hawaii to retire maybe in a few more years, as I own a few pieces of property there now.

Hope to learn a thing or two about cigars, as I would like to expand my knowledge on the subject. Who knows...maybe I'll open a cigar shop when I retire, somewhere people can light up and relax over a nice 18 year old scotch without people bitching and cursing about the smoke.

Did you really squeeze a rat motor in that Nova?

A friend of mine had a built small block in a '69 Nova with an M22 rock crusher and he used to turn 11.5 1/4 miles with that baby.

Hey CC, a piece of folklore I remember from when I got my first car (still have it) is that the '72 Chevelle SS came with the 454 pushing 460 hp...stock off the line. I'm guessing that the Nova had the same powertrain as well somewhere in its lineup for '72 (if this is, in fact, not a bunch of horseshit).
I'm gladly waiting for the gearheads to correct me...I love me some greasy engine talk.

Oh geez...was it the '70 Chevelle with the 460 hp??? Man, too many cold ones tonight.

Automatic (TH400) or standard (M21) or COOL standard (M22)? I'll have to go back and do some research but was the engine option package referrred to as an "LS6" (454 with ...ah shit I forgot..)? I've also heard of LS7s but I don't think they sold them as production cars, I think they were only for racing.

The 1970 Chevelle SS 454 was probably that badest of the bad back then. In 1971, the body got slightly bigger and heavier and in 1972, they lowered the compression and they were never the same....

Man, that's a lot of math right there

I know my 68 Impala with the 307 was, is, and always will be a cruiser and nothing but a cruiser. And, after racking my worn out brain about it, I'm almost positive it was the '70 and not the 72...don't recall what composed the rest of the drive-train.

Sorry for the threadjack Mr. 72Nova454...if you can fill us in on this, I'd love to hear it.

Yep, CC's edit was correct, it was the 70 I was thinking of...of course, he also meant to hit the D key twice when he wrote baddest, but the guy collects Jaguars so what can you really expect???
