Overall impression - woody, creamy, medium bodied
Box code - June 06
I've had these in my humidor for a couple months and decided to see how these cigars are coming along. After sampling one when I received the box, the cigars were pretty one dimensional, woody, creamy, slightly spicy. With a little rest, the cigar started out the same until coming alive roughly midway through. The #4 developed a little more body, and the cream toned down a bit. About the 2/3 mark, the cigar became dry and peppery, still carrying a woody profile, no harshness at all. A little later the pepper toned down while stronger spices appeared. Obviously a little age has these cigars showing a little more complexity and character. I think I'll bury the box and revisit them in a couple more months.
This petit corona is very good and the standard for which I measure other petit coronas, deciding whether I like other petit coronas more or less than the #4.
