Thread: Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 Toro

  1. #1

Default Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 Toro Goldline

Okay, please bear with me on my attempt to review this smoke. Being that this is only the forth cigar I have had to date, my reviewing abilities are lacking to say the least. Anyways, here goes:

The appearance of the cigar was very nice. Dark and well constructed. It had a slighty oily sheen and there were very few very small veins throughout. Pre-lit aroma was nice as was the taste, which seemed to be slightly sweet. Nice firm feel with a slight give.

Lighting was very easy and even. The draw was very nice the entire smoke. I can tell you, this thing produced the nicest white, thick smoke, I was very impressed. There was a strong, but not offensive aroma. It seemed to be a mild to slightly full flavor with a pleasing spice that lingered the whole smoke. I couldn't pick out any particulars in the taste, but it was tastey overall. Maybe alittle earthy if I had to try to put a finger on it. Burn was very even and the ash was solid and a nice shade of gray. It made it to about the 2 1/2 inch point before finally succumbing to gravity.

The finish was as nice as the start. Stayed consistant throughout. Lasted about an hour and a half. I used a full cut and it has been stored about a week at 70% RH. For the $5 it cost me, I would definately pick up a couple more.

And one last thing, this bad boy did have my head swimming a little, but in a good way

Bravo!, excellent job there Puff. That is one of my favorite cigars. Everything but that you mentioned is exactly what I experience each and every time when I light one of those up. Good review.

I just smoked a Torano Reserva Selecta Petit Corona for breakfast. I just love the entire Torano line.

Good review Puff. You got me eyeing one of the boxes of Carlos Torano Exodus Gold 1959 Torpedo's I have in stock.

Any one up to split a box with me?

You and I were on the same wavelength yesterday... I had the Exodus silver label robusto yesterday as well. I only had about 45 minutes to an hour to have a cigar, and this fit the bill perfectly. It was the first Torano robusto I've had. A nice smoke, indeed... (and I even smoked it at a Montecrsito event at my shop - I've got a picture of me holding it up being lit by the Montecristo Platinum girl).

Wise move George. I'd smoke a 1959 over a domestic Monte any day.

Unfortunately, my shop doesn't stock Torano. I handed out a few to some of the guys that were there yesterday, and they all seemed happy... One of the guys told me he was dying to get his hands on another one, having been gifted one a while back, and thanked me profusely.

I guess I gotta talk the store owner into carrying them!

BTW - I do like Montecristo's. I just wasn't in the mood at the time... They are a fuller bodied cigar.

LOl, WOW this is the EXACT Torano that I keep in stock regularly.

Just smoked one this morning. At $66.00 for a box of 24, these are one of the best deals out there.

Default A big Torano fan here too...but

trying to find his cigars locally is another story.

My favorite Torano is the Exodus Silver "Grand Churchill". Two Guys in NH carries Torano but is currently out of the Silver line and can't say exactly when they'll get more.

Can anyone recommend a good mail order supply?

They're out of stock. The last two boxes I bought of these from Serious were $66.85.

    Did the price go up?

The 1959 is $66.85 but the Silver line is a bit more. Those are the ones I was quoting a prices for. The 1959 might end up being my first box purchase.

Well okay but that's not the cigar the thread originator did his review on. His review was on the Gold not the Silver.

I was quoting the price and vendor for MMAB because he was asking about the silver line. Besides, I AM the original poster, so I give myself permission to stray slightly from the topic posted

My bad for not quoting MMAB originally when I posted the price for the silver line.

Oops.... I posted my reply based on the silver line - that's what I thought you posted the review on...

The silver line is VERY nice... Now to find one of the gold line cigars to compare...
