Default Report on cigar prices in Montreal

    Hey all.

Just getting ready to pack to go back home.

I'll give a more detailed report later in the week, but here's a sample:

    EDIT:

Here's the full list of what I took prices on in the shop.
    • AF Short Story - $23.83 ea
    • AF Flor Fina 8-5-8 - $21.49
    • Opus X (4 sizes) - $52 - $92 ea
    • Ashton VSG (2 sizes) - $34 & $49
    • La Aurora Prefediros Tubo - $50
    • La Aurora 1495 Robusto - $24
    • La Aurora 1495 Churchill - $30
    • La Flor Domineca Double Ligerio (2 sizes) $24 & $29
    • Padron Anniversary '64 Exclusivo - $62
    • Padron 6000 - $38
    • Cohiba Siglo III - $41
    • Cohiba Siglo IV - $45
    • Cohiba Siglo V - $59
    • Cohiba Siglo VI - $69 ($80 for the Tubo)
    • Cohiba Robusto - $46
    • Monte Cristo #1 - $30
    • Monte Cristo #2 - $33 (this seems wrong)
    • Bolivar Petite Corona - $17
    • Bolivar Rubusto - $23
    • Bolivar Torpedo - $28
    • Xikar Xi Cutter - $75
    • Xikar Xi2 Cutter - $100
    • Xikar Xi3 Cutter - $125
    • Bullet Punch - $50 +
I was in one big shop, so I can't compare prices amongst other stores in the area. Suffice to say this place seemed very busy so I highly doubt they're priced out of the local market.

    SARGE:

No. Only thing I bought there was a torch lighter for $20 for the golf course.

    CIGAR PENGUIN:

That remark about the west was sarcasm at Drew. The westerners hate the way Canadian Governments favour Ontario and Quebec and pay off the Maritimes.

Also, prices on beer, wine and smokes change from province to province same way as state to state south of the border.

    PROPHETIC JOE:

If that's an offer, I'm gonna take you up on it in a month or so. I've still got 7 or 8 but they won't last forever and "dem deres" good smokes.

For comparison, last time I was in Edmonton, I noticed they wanted 42-56/Opus X and 30 bucks for an Ashton VSG Robusto.

They Also wanted 21 dollars for an AF Chateau Fuente.

Ah well...I guess that free health care has to be paid for somehow

That's it. I'm going to open a cigar shop in Canada and smuggle in my supply.

I can second that a lot of those prices are around the same here... maybe slightly less in Toronto but not a whole lot. Hence why I dropped about $400 USD on cigars during my visit to Buffalo last weekend! Newfie, we should chat

These prices are typical all over Canada, not just Montreal. I rarely buy my cigars here. I may buy the odd single to try one, but I get my purchases online from the states. Hell, its cheaper for me to drive 2 hours to Niagara Falls, NY and pay in US dollars for cigars than to drive 5 mins to my local shop.
