This past year, State Senator Biagio "Billy" Ciotto decided to not seek reelection and last month, they had a retirement dinner for him. There were over 1200 people there and I didn't even get a chance to wish him well.He has to be one of the nicest, honest, most upstanding, respected men to ever be involved in politics in Connecticut and I know him pretty well. Before he was a State Senator, he worked at the Department of Motor Vehicles for over 40 years, rising to the position of Deputy Commissioner.
I had brought a Padron 1926 to give to him because he LOVES cigars but I never got a chance to hand it to him.![]()
Yesterday, he stopped by the state Capitol to visit and I said "Hey Billy, I didn't even get a chance to speak to you at your retirement dinner because there were SO MANY people there. I had a cigar to give you!" He said, "Well, that's no excuse!" and laughed so I asked him when he'd be around the Capitol again. He told me he'd be there today for the Governor's budget address so I put together a little "bomb" for him:
Padron 1926 #2 maduro
Diamond Crown Maxiumus #4 Toro
Anejo 48
SLR Serie A
I tracked him down this afternoon and he was absolutely thrilled with the little gift pack I gave him.
Best wishes in your retirement Billy!![]()
