    The odd part about this is she visited a cigar factory. However I do not know which one, but she did show me pictures of the factory itself. The problem is she was swayed to purchase "ISOMs" in the D.R.. Unfortunately with her lack of knowledge she did not know any better.

    I doubt that. A lot of the tourist-trap tours include a "cigar factory" that isn't actually any sort of factory. It's a room with some tobacco bales, some wood molds, and the hint that they make their own cigars. They show the tourists how the rolling is done. But it's no kind of real cigar factory, just a propped-up tourist attraction.

    That's almost certainly what her "factory" was. The real factories aren't in tourist areas.

    most of the cigar factories are in the santiago or tamboril area.....some others in la romana...but santiago is regarded as the center of the cigar industry in the D.R.....

    there may be some smaller factories in other parts of the country that are,for the most part,insignificant...
