You gotta keep some toys for sure weazel. Wish I could afford another bike or 3, but between the big dog and my 2 project cars (300zx, 280zx) thats all I get

The prob I'm having with the bike is one of the switches (either the run or start) is not working. I think its prolly either a bad switch or a short, all the other switches and elec components work, so it leads me to believe its a switch.

    Default 1974 Trident & 1969 Trophy

I know this is an old thread, but its just what I was searching for.

I've had the black bike since 2001 & just got the red one up and running last year.

I know. They are pretty old bikes...
You should have seen the '69 when I got it! It was all rusted to hell.

I'm talking about the thread, how deep did you have to dig to find it?

It is an older thread but at least he made good use of the search feature. As long as good, relevant discussion is added, which it was, I don't see anything wrong with using an old thread.

My '91 Honda Nighthawk 750. I got her in spring of 2007 with a little over 8k miles.

No shit. I typed in "motorcycles" on search and it was about 8 down. Yep. I had to dig like hell.

Eville, did I say anything about his reply not being valid or wrong-headed? No, I was simply commenting on how old the thread was. As someone who has been around for a long time on the board it's always funny to see in the "New Posts" a thread with a couple pages and an original poster who is not recognizable at all, all of a sudden show up, only to find it's a thread from years ago.

Eville, BigMac didn't have a problem with the fact this this is an old thread and I don't think anyone else does either. When I first saw this thread rise from the dead, my reaction was pretty much the same as Sean's, especially considering the fact that the originator of the thread was banned from here almost two years ago.

"Waking the dead" is a very appropriate comment in this case (funny as hell too ) and if you knew the background about john90210, you'd "get it" too.

I looked at the picture of the chopper and the first thing I thought was "Oh, that poor lady has a deformed hand...shit nevermind, baby's foot"

My bad guys. I "slept" on a couch with the girl friend last night and had to drop her off at the bus for Indy at 0darkearly this morning. I came back here which is when I typed my response at less than full mental capacity lol. There are also a couple other boards I frequent where members are bound and beaten for bringing a thread back from a few months ago even if they are contributing to it. Often times these threads are then locked for the sole fact that they are old, and that annoys the piss out of me. Given the early hour and the usual responses I see to old threads definitely contributed to my misreading of BigMacFU's response. Reading it again now, I'm a bit embarrassed because it was obviously harmless. Sorry 'bout that!

I like the studded seats & saddlebags sammis. I looked into getting a studded Mustang seat for mine as the Mustang is supposed to be super comfortable for my bike, but expensive too with the driver's backrest. What make seat do you have? The wifey wants passenger floorboards as well, those things can be ridiculous in price.

    Hi Irish

The studded seats and bags are factory installed (Part of the LT package) I not sure who makes it though. It is pretty comfortable.

I moved the backrest from the passenger seat to behind the driver seat since I don't give rides Still trying to figure out how to build a better lumbar support. The pillow was a "buy it along the road to keep my back from killing me" purchase.

My first bike was a parallel two cylinder also, a Honda CBR400. I'll have to see if I can find a picture of it.

Figured I would wake this thread up again. For one I know how much Bill loves the OP and second I just bought a new bike and I have got to post it.

'08 Victory Vision Tour Premium. I like other Vicories better but I needed a vehicle that gets me to work 110 miles one way. This has the heated hand grips, heated seats, radio. I needed the trunk space because my gear for work is over 75 lbs. It's a very comfortable ride. Smaller bikes tend to beat you up on long rides. Plus this is getting 60 MPG. It'll have to do until I can afford another bike just for riding.

Just a side note this is one of the first Visions made. Victory build it for Kyle Petty for the 2007 Charity Ride. I got it at auction for charity for $6,000 less than MSRP.
