Default I just want to talk cigars...

I notice more and more that I just love talking about cigars.

I like talking about the history, the process of making them. My likes dislikes etc....

I wish the smoke friendly B&M's around me weren't so snobbish about bringing your own. I would love to have a place like (I thinkit was drew) said that he pays $20/yr to go to just to smoke.

To me that would be GREAT....smoke my own stash in a comfortable environment with awesome BOTLS to talk with. Heck I Would pay $10/mo for that. I just hate going somewhere OVER paying for sticks just to have great convo on cigars. Worth it...YES, but when I have a cabinet humi approaching full it pains me to pay for a smoke I have already.

Which is why on days like this when I am off of work I sit here and hit "refresh" a million times just to see if there is any more posts.

So this is just my little tidbit of info on my life. The smoking B&M I have around me is nice but the owner doesn't really talk much cigars. He likes them, smokes them but he is a business man.

My favorite place(I am sure most of yo know who) is aweosme but I just can't smoke there regularly...it is a small walk in humi and not a hangout place(until his new place gets built, then it is GAME ON). But this owner LOVES talking cigars, doing crap with cigars(we were laser engraving on them the other day for fun, actually turns out pretty f'n cool), and disected a rocky 90 for fun. Only problem is, he is trying to run a business.

So I guess I just can;t wait for his new place with a lounge. Nothing better than a smoking B&M with an owner that kicks ass.

So this will be the start of my rambling thread. Throw in your info/random comment of the day here!

I decided I am going to hint to my wife to enroll me into the Cigar rolling classes offered locally all the time in my area. I think it would be fun. Not that I would ever "roll my own" I think it would just offer me a greater appreciation of a flawless wrapper. Some of these cigars we smoke are rediculously immaculate. It is an amazing thing!!

You could always start your own cigar smoking club. You could charge people 20 bucks a year to come smoke in your garage (Or wherever you smoke) with you. Bonus is that you don't have to go anywhere. I could use a place like that too, the wife isn't a big fan of the smoke so can't do it inside. And, living in PA, there are severe limitations on when I can do it outside and not freeze to death.

I wish there was a place close to me where I could smoke. None of my friends really smoke cigars and those that do only smoke the minis or cigarillos.

I like air conditioning. Trust me if I had the motivation I would build a smoking room...but in all reality I hate smelling cigar smoke when I am not smoking one. So having a room, even with filters, exhaust, etc would smell horrible to me(I have a very sensitive nose).

So going somewhere is a total bonus becuase it is cool, I smoke and leave.

My house is nice, I love grabbing a stogie and sitting on the dock listening to the birds but it's florida. 75% of the year is HOT and HUMID.

Build a shed out back for that 12 foot gator and the wild cats. They can use it when you aren't in there smoking

    Florida does sound nice....

  11. Cool

If you move to Florida, I would suspect Guado would move out!!!!

I'm some what fortunate in that. I can go to JimD's in Hartford smoke mine if I want as he is a great BOTL. Mind you I wouldn't leave his place without supporting it. And, I'm sure my welcome would be worn out quickly if I didn't. Hell he should charge just for his knowledge and company!!!!

I Was at my favorite spot today and got to talk cigars for about 2 hours. One guy actually told me to teach him...I spouted off forever and he did his best to remember some of the stuff I told him. THAT was fun!

Don't get me wrong....I am nto wanting to be a mooch...I just don't like supporting businesses that IMO are in it just for cash rather than for friendships(in THIS type of situation). There is no interaction unless it is business at this other place...

At this point I think. I know you well enough to know you aren't a mooch. I got lucky with JimD. If I were you. I'd continue my search until...........

I know the feeling of wanting someone to talk to about smokes. Last night I was at a rehearsal dinner for my sister in law's wedding (which is today), and I wound up talking to my wife's uncle for three hours just about wine. It was great, we were sharing favorite regions and just exchanging what we knew and loved. Afterwards, I was like, wow that was great.... I wish I had someone I could talk cigars with like that.

Well Guado, you always have us on the board until you fine the right place. Maybe some Saturday you and LP can come to T'ville and we can go to my local shop and sit for a spell. Your only another hour away than Corona's (depending on the roadwork on the Bitchline). Maybe we can work on something where you can bring your lady this time and start much earlier in the day.

I am also in Florida guys. The weather here is awesome 90% of the time. We have a local B&M here about 10 mins. from the house I go to sometimes to pick up singles, smoke in the lounge, shoot the shit and talk cigars. The owner is a long time friend of mine which is nice. He just opened the lounge about a month ago. The actual store has been opened for 2 yrs. He is pretty knowledgable on cigars and we sit in the lounge and just chat for hours. We should have a nice herf for Florida guys sometime.

Another Floridian here. I'm new around here, although I've been lurking for a while. I have submitted an introduction, but I guess it's pending Admin approval because it was the first thread I initiated. Anyway, you all will see it whenever he/she gets the chance to pass it through. I am about 40 minutes North of Tampa (Spring Hill/Weekiwachee area), and my office is in St. Pete. I travel the entire state (from Florida City to well into the panhandle), so I could potentially catch up with folks just about anywhere in FL.

SandPiper, It does not look like you did an Intro, according to your post count. You may want to try and post it again. Welcome to the forum though, from a fellow Floridian.

I submitted the post, and the forum gave me a message that said an admin must approve it before it appears. It doesn't tell me that to reply to a post, only when I tried to begin a thread. If it doesn't show up by Monday, I'll repost. Thanks for the welcome, by the way.
