Had my first Brandy tonite...

Yup, just picked up a bottle of Paul Masson Grande Amber Brandy out of nowhere. I was looking for import beers and decided to give this guy a new home. Got home and lit up a La Aroma de Cuba and poured me a small glass ... man, it was good. Really Good. Sweet. I'm not a big drinker ... at all. My dad has got me interested in some imports so I've been trying some out, but I've heard you guys talk about brandy and cognac and stuff and it's got me interested. I want to try a port next. My dad gave me some suggestions.

Any suggestions on some inexpensive ports to try?

By the way, if you haven't tried the La Aroma de Cuba, I would highly recommend. Very good cigar and an awesome price. $4-6.

I have a bottle of port from Australia a bud of mine sent me...I have not drank enough port to form an opinion.

Just wondering if yal could name some quality cognac's that are out there. Nothing that is like $500 a bottle but something that is better than the "bottom of the line" stuff. I've never had Cognac and the only name that I can think of off the top of my head that makes it is Hennessy. Don't bash me if its cheap crap, just the only brand that I know of off the top of my head. Tell me what yal like and if its easy/hard to find.

I picked up a bottle of Taylor port. It was cheap so I figured it would at least give me a taste. Pretty good IMO.

Chris, try Ramos Pinto ruby port. $12-13 a bottle. I've also got a Fonseca Bin 27 in the rack. I'll let you know how it is when I open it.
