I buy my cigars from the east coast of Australia, as the local retailer here in the west sure knows how to overcharge the local clients. Plus they have a huge attitude problem unless you fit their 'expected' cigar smoker profile.
Anyway I placed a mail order last week with the guys on the east coast and waited for the usual overnight delivery. It never eventuated and today a week later I got my order. No big deal really, I called them earlier in the week to let them know it hadn't arrived, so I rang again today to confirm its arrival and to let them know why it took longer to get here. Aussie express post has a hazardous warning area to sign. If its signed the goods go air. If not, it goes via road. Needless to say the guys forgot to sign the envelope/bag.
The young lad I was talking to at the store is a 3rd generation cigar store owner and smoker. I wasn't really upset at all by the delay as mistakes happen, I never complained at all and just joked with him saying I expected his Dad would make a lot of mistakes like this.
He felt bad that it took a week, so he's promised to send me some freebies (La Auroras) along with a red soprano's cigar box. Being the smart kid he is, he just scored a customer for life.
It was a really nice way to start my day.
