U.S.: New smoking bans in New Jersey target cars, amusement parks
New local laws in New Jersey ban smoking in cars transporting children in the town of Keyport and boost fines for violating a smoking ban in the Great Adventure amusement parks in the city of Jackson. Keyport, which approved the law last week, is the first town in New Jersey to limit smoking inside private vehicles. Some New Jersey legislators also are considering a statewide ban on the practice. At Great Adventure, bans already prevented smoking in all but designated areas, but now violators will be fined $250 for a first offense and face higher charges for additional violations.
