Quai D’Orsay 50. Never had one of these before. Super creamy smoke texture, flavor notes started as wood and mineral with a touch of sweetness, by about halfway the mineral flavor was replaced by more sweetness and some coffee. Wasn’t too excited with how it started but I am loving it now. Tight draws are my biggest issue with CCs, but this one is one of the rare ones with a perfect draw. Very enjoyable. If they were all constructed this well they might almost be worth the $ and trouble getting them.

Also, retrohale was super smooth and light in the beginning but has picked up a lot of pepper as it burns down.

I paid another visit to badwhale over the weekend, attended the big cook off, had some incredible ribs, a bunch of cigars and met lots of great folks. Thanks to Mr. Whale for being the always gracious host!

Tonight I’m back home and tearing into an Ashton of some sort.

Last night I had a RASS (always a great smoke, I have a box of these that should be landing this week) and an AJ Fernandez New World Cameroon (the first of these I have ever smoked, great syrupy sweet flavors with a beastly peppery retrohale).

Tonight I’m just about 1/3 into a Crowned Heads Tennessee Waltz. Strong chocolate start with a slight cayenne pepper tingle and a pretty strong nicotine throat punch in the first few puffs. While it is really good so far it is also really hot here and this smokes like a stout or porter drinks, try in cooler weather for best results. I have a few more and will be waiting for the fall before lighting into another one.
