Last night: Old Henry Gold Robusto

Tonight: AF Flor Fina 8-5-8 Natural that I received in a trade with a BOTL here. Really like this cigar!

How'd you keep the batch of Salmon lit?

It is a Canadian secret, but rye is involved ;-).

The secret is "rye", eh? Would that be Canadian rye - which may or may not contain rye? Or do you use US rye whiskey - which must be 51% or more rye?

Actually it's Forty Creek whiskey. It's a blend made here in Ontario. If my wife and I ever stopped drinking it, I'm sure the company would go bankrupt 😊

I personally am still drinking 100% Rye - I have a few bottles of Alberta Premium 25 year old to go through. However, I wouldn't use it to light salmon.

Besides Alberta Premium (regular 5 year old) and maybe a couple others, there are no 100% Ryes left.

Forty Creek is a nice blend. IIRC, the regular blend is rye, corn, and barley.

In any case - at least when I buy champagne - it really is ;-).

I personally favor Templeton's - 90% rye grain, 10% malted barley grain. Very nice stuff...

And I ain't using it to light my salmon!!!

Yep, this is some very nice stuff! I have a bottle on the shelf. They don't distribute in my state, so I had to con the boss into bringing some back from a business trip for me. For some reason I always think of parking garages and finely aged tubos when I pull it from the shelf.

ETA: Oh, yeah, I smoked a party short for breakfast this morning.
