Last night - Trini Coloniales at 4 years old. A reminder of how smoking an excellent medium-bodied cigar is just such a relaxing experience.
I forgot to post, but last Sunday I smoked a Wynwood gifted to me by GreekTitan.
I actually really liked this cigar. It started with lots of pepper and a strong punch to my throat like it was going to be a real ass kicker. At about a third of the way in it really smoothed out and became more subtle and sweet. At the halfway point a little spice crept back in, not overwhelming at all, and blended well with the subtle sweet tobacco. It stayed this way to the end.
After the initial throat punch, this cigar really settled down and had some very nice, while not overwhelming flavors. I think Will reviewed one of these a while back, I can't remember what he said about it, I didn't check before posting this but I am going to search as soon as I am done here.

We are kicking this lovely Friday evening off with a Monte #4.
Looks "interesting," too.
Partagas SP #2, followed by some Havana Club. It has been a long week.
Thanks! I had never heard of them so curiosity drove me to look on the AltadisUSA website this morning while having a JLP Conservas (which is not complex, and not that much different from the SP #2 I had last night - wonderful what almost 7 years does).
From the Altadis writeup, it sounds like what JR used to do (and maybe still does) - pack the cigars in fancy low-count boxes and charge accordingly. There are a few different cigars in the series (Las Vegas, New York, etc.) so perhaps the cigars are tied into marketing the MC lounges. At least it appears that they aren't doing the trick of having just a couple different blends and using different wrappers to make a bunch of different cigars.
I finished last night with a Liga T52. That was a fantastic smoke.
Thanks for the split Will.
I'm no expert but the ash on this Cusano seems to be holding very strong.
Update:
Still holding.
Final update:
It made it the whole way.
