Thread: Today's smokes......

  1. Default

I am finally back, I was assigned to a detail that was very time consuming, and was only given a half day to prepare, and I didn't have but an hour or two a day between when I got home till I went to bed. Sorry I just disappeared, but it was ne of those situations I couldn't say no to.

I gotta tell ya, it is good to be back.

Particulares Reserva Privada Toro - Bargin price aside, this is a fantastic cigar with lots of character.

Yesterday, breakfasttime: half a CAO Gold Vintage (time constraints stopped me). I did like it, with a nice big cup of coffee. Very simple in flavor, at least as far as I can tell. I'd smoke it again.

I got a package yesterday and hope to get these sexy babies inhaled today.
I found a web site called New Havana Cigars. They strictly sell the upscale stuff. No Rocky Patel 63rds.
A little cheaper than some, more at others. Their variety is what brings me back.Click image for larger version.

P.S. I stopped doing reviews for the online cigar stores. Got tired of their tired old house brands. Plus, I had to watch what I said. I certainly can't tell a story like I did in the La Gloria Cubana review. And those silly stories make it fun for me.

I'm not a huge fan of smoking in the hot, humid summer we get around here so I tend to smoke much less. I think that I smoked only a handful for cigars this summer, if that. Other things contributed to that, not just the summer. But I digress.

At a nice, cool 59 degrees I'm smoking a 5 Vegas Relic on my front porch. I received this in a bomb or the PIF. I didn't check my book, but I know its from one of you(SLC or Daigz maybe). Whoever sent it, Thanks. Nice smoke.

Reinado (or something like that) - meh
Macanudo Cru Royale - more meh
    Chavetta - less meh
RP Sun Grown - super meh
    Famous Nic 6000 - guess ...

It is nice to get new cigars at events, but I'm glad that I didn't buy any of these (except for the Chavetta). Just call me a Habanos snob.

if you've stopped doing reviews for online cigar stores - why do you keep promoting them in nearly every post? Force of habit, perhaps?
