Thread: How much is enough?

    Default How much is enough?

So, I was sitting around reading CA and one of the gentlemen being interviewed mentioned he smoked about 10 cigars daily...

Got me a thinking...10 cigars a day?!? Is that too many for one man to enjoy? I mean really...how much is enough?

I'll get things started...I smoke between 4-9 cigars weekly...

    You?

    Cheers,

    Mark

Seems like all the aftertastes that would build up after that many in one day would cause them to taste bad, at least after #3...

I think there is a thread around here somewhere where this has been done already........but what the hey..........I have a morning "mystery" cigar, and an evening "tried and true" smoke after dinner. I try to work in a lunch smoke, and am successful most days, usually a PC or similar size......so I guess that makes me 2-3 day.

I agree, unless you are smoking the same brand and size every time.

1 to 2 a week here. I like to keep it that way so it's not quite so hard on the budget and then by the time I get to smoking again I'm really looking forward to it. It keeps it more exciting for me. The question here really is can you have to much of a good thing? Obviously some people say no.

    Same here!

Except this # gets higher for the week if there is a Herf going on or if friends are in town or if I am out of town.

I've developed a routine of having a cigar most weeknights after dinner. It's something I look forward to every day as the afternoon grows long.

10 a day?! Even if I had nothing to do but smoke cigars, 10 a day might be pushing it. Not that I wouldn't try....

I agree, 10 a day is ridiculous to me. You'd almost have to be smoking the exact same cigar, otherwise I couldn't believe taste buds able to tell the difference between one smoke and the other.

My frequency changes with the weather here in WI. Right now, it's almost impossible for me not to smoke after work. It's been about 80 degrees with a great breeze off the lake, and my garden is in full swing.

Plus, right now I'm working out of my kitchen whilst my office is finished in my hangar, so if I'm not flying for the day, it's easy to shut down at 5 bells and relax with a scotch and smoke.

Come winter time...my average will go down, and is typically limited to a quick cigarillo or when I'm out for dinner/drinks.

Me and my pocket book commend those with the fortitude to limit oneself to 2 per week :)

    Cheers,

    Mark

For me it depends on if I have my kids over the weekend or not. Because I don't smoke them when I have my kids. So it goes from 5 to 9 or 10 a week. Smoked 6 in one day once when I was in Vegas for the Big Smoke. But if I'm out with the guys or an outdoor thing on the weekend I can easily smoke 3 or 4.

2-4 a week for me. I can't imagine I would have enough time in a day to smoke more than 2, even if it was PC or not.

I tend to smoke 2-3 per week. A little more lately since I've been working 13 hour days and need to take a break in there somewhere.

For me 1-3 a week. If I have any more, I not longer enjoy them.

3-4 a day could easily be handled from a tasting stand point if proper time and meals were inserted between.
