I don't currently own one, but will be looking at one next summer. I would say you get what you pay for. If you don't want to worry about the seal, look into an Aristocrat.

I think cigarmony.com has some decent pre-built cabinets available as well with decent prices. Mark great to deal with as well...especially with shipments to Canada.

I have a TampaHumidor.com cabinet.

the Montegue. Seal works fine. the thing with cabinets is "IF" you find a not so good seal you can always add some sealer tape etc...

Mine has been just fine as with others I know with TH cabinet humis.

My 6 ft cab seal is iffy. I have to constantly watch it and adjust the scews on the doors when the digi hygrometer reads 63% or less. more work than I planned for, but well worth it when considering the contents. I like to keep this unit between 65 and 67%

im just worried about the seal on the tampa humi cause the two doors seem to just meet in the middle instead of on one another.

That is the same style on the doors of the mine. The lexington was basically a smaller clone of the Montegue. Mine seals with no issues.

The only thing I don't like about the cheaphumidors model is the door uses the roller ball and pressure spring thing to hold the door closed. The lexington uses magnets along with a tight fit.

I also have a hatred towards cheaphumidors customer service if you ever need any help.

Also you may want to call cheaphumidors to see how they ship that model. The Lexington will ship UPS oversize vs truck frieght.

I have had the model from cheaphumidor for over a year and have had no problems. I did have to adjust the door hinges when I first got it, but that was simple and the seal has been fine ever since.

When buying a cabinet of that size you will be storing lots of boxes, so the cedar inserts are fine. Once the boxes equalize to the desired humidity everything stay pretty constant. I believe that he humidifier you use is more important than the actual humidor. I use the Cigar Oasis II which does a great job of keeping the humidity constant and distributed. The unit has 3 fans, one that runs when you need moisture and two that run all the time to keep the air moving. It holds 50 oz of water and will run for several months here in Denver (i.e., very low humidity) before it needs to be refilled. Refilling consists of removing a plastic plug in the front of the unit and pouring in distilled water. The hole is big enough so you can pour it in right from the jug and not have to worry about spilling water. They retail for about $200 but Atlantic Cigar offers it for $140. If you're going for a large cabinet I believe something like that is a necessity. Here's the link to atlantic cigar.

Edit: I should say that the 2 drawbacks are its size and the fact that the fans run all the time. It does take a lot of space and it is a bit noisy, but the noise gets lost in the background after a while.

That Oasis II is very nice. For the tall cabinets.

I ended up just getting a Hyrda that has aux fans to circulate air all the time too. It is like the Oasis XL just a little nicer with better controls. That one works fine for my cabinet(and would be plenty for the Lexington).

As Shelby said once you started getting boxes in there and everything within gets stabilized it is much easier to maintain the RH.

I have two full-size cabinets, a double-wide, a Montegue (which I think of as a half-cabinet) and three other half-cabinets. I have no major seal issues on any of them. I'm going add foam weatherstripping tape to enhance the seal on the double-wide to make winter less of an issue. I run a humidifier in the house in the winter to mitigate the non-existant ambient humidity in the Northeastern US. I have Oasis II XLs in all of the cabinets and I couldn't be more happy.

As far as the fans supplying/increasing the ambient noise, it does fade into the background, but there are times - the darndest times - that you'll notice it. Like 3 in the morning when you're awake and wanting to watch TV without it being too loud....

I have three cabinets. All three i bought from Staebell.

Never had a problem with the seal. The oldest one is five years old and is holding like its brand new at 65/65 due to the Set & Forget System.

Set it where you want it, and it will regulate the RH for you as long as you keep the reservoir filled. I saw one in action last weekend in an Aristocrat and it was pretty impressive. It kicks in within 2 seconds of opening the cabinet door.
