    Default Crappy day!

Let this be a warning to all of you out there about the dangers of email phishing. Now most of us I would assume would never fall for it, yet many of us have significant others that just might.

Apparently, my wife clicked on a link from a phishing email last week and we come to find out this morning that someone in NJ got our online banking info and changed the log in stuff. So we go to the bank to try and stop things and see that both my checking and our savings were cleaned out.

Now the fraud team at Wachovia is great and said we should have the money back next week, however this is still a monumental PITA. We spent 3.5 hours at the bank and now I'm changing all of my direct deposit and bill pay stuff.

In the end I am hoping this will be nothing more than a hassle, but it still shouldn't have happened. So go and make sure your wife, girlfriend, etc... knows that no legitimate financial institution will ever ask for account information via email.

Wow, sorry to hear that. I keep a separate account from my wife, so if she phucks up she's going to spend hours at the bank, not me.
There's only two kinds of cigars, the kind you like and the kind you don't.

Damn that does suck.....be sure to register with the credit bureau's and let them know you are at risk for identity theft and put a watch on your credit file so they will notify you if anyone seeks credit in your name.

That sucks man. I've been there. Wells Fargo is a stand up bank I might add.

We should get together sometime, I'll bring the cigars. I'm in the area, down near the sand.
