    Default Out for another weekend.

Spent last weekend diving, now I'm gonna be doing the same thing this weekend. Believe me, I'm not complaining. I got invited to dive down in Florida at Morrison and Vortex Springs. I'm pretty jazzed about it. Last weekend I hit a new max depth at 142'. Won't be going near as deep this time, but the water is gonna be clear as can be. I'm heading out tomorrow after lunch.

Some pictures from the two sites (not taken by me)

yup, cold, too. my computer showed 55 degrees at the bottom. The springs stay a constant 72 all year round, though.

Only thing I fear is my ears hurt when I dive to the bottom of a pool(<10' or approx 3 meters for you candian folk)

next time they hurt, pinch your nose and blow against it. equalizes the ears.

cool pic's Chris. 142 feet!?!? Damn, thats deep. See anything cool down there? Did you get the bends?
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -unknown

haha, no bends. i didn't even get narced. well, i mean, everyone's narced a little deeper than about 80' but I still had a clear head. I found a Yuengling Beer Bottle. It was in a part of the quarry that I've never ventured to before and it looked totally different than the rest. Big boulders and what not. It was dark, too. And I'll say it again ... cold. It was definately a proud moment for me. The day before I had beat my record at 124'. On the dive to 142' i had a single AL80, stayed down for 30 minutes total and still came up with 1000 psi. Of course we couldn't stay at 142' the whole 30 minutes, we were maxed out for probably a minute, then ascended slowly to look around.

Note: I am not thrill seeking here. I was with an experienced diver and feel very comfortable with my diving. I'm definately not going out on every dive trying to beat my max depth record.

Well, definately need to get Nitrox. I'm taking my Advanced through SSI in November so I'll get it then. As far as TriMix and all that, I won't be going that deep or exploring caves anytime soon.

We need to get together and dive and smoke, cause after all .. those go hand-in-hand.

No argument there!! Nothing like floating around on the boat, cold one in the right hand, burning stogie in the other.........finally getting to talk about the stuff you just saw on the bottom.

Maybe next spring or summer we can hook up and make some bubbles.
