Thread: Mold in my humidor?

  1. Default

I noticed recently that the spongy area in my humidifier is growing mold (or what appears to be mold). If I don’t add water to it weekly, my humidity levels drop below 60. Do any of you have any ideas to keep mold from growing? Is it a big deal or can I just ignore it?

you shouldnt ignore it coz letting mold grow in your sponge will eventually let the spores transfer to your smokes.

are you using distilled water? are you sure you need to add water that often? maybe some propylene glycol will help retard mold growth.

Why don't you try any of these instead of foam:

    Climax Beads

    Drymistat Crystal Tube

    Humid-Eze Sticks

    Clima-Guard Crystal Humidification

    HUMI-CARE Crystal Gel Humidification

I have used all of the above with great results.
