Question What to expect from CIgarBIDding?

Okay first off i would like to say that Cigarbid.com is the devil incarnate... I mean wow.. talk about addictive.. I got a few really great deals, but I wanted to know from yall... like what should i expect?

How are 5 and 10 packs shipped?

How long does it usually take from auction close to doorstep deliver

Have yall ever gotten a bad lot, like soft, hard or discolored 'gars from them?

Will I always get the better deal bidding for my cigars? But Not the better quality of the Brand?

Any of these questions would be greatly appreciated!

CBid is run by Cigars International so you'll get the same cigars and packaging that you would get if you bought off their main website.

The only problem I've had with them is when something I won was on backorder for like 2 weeks. They gave me a choice of waiting it out or sending me a comparable cigar so it worked out in the end.

As for your last question, CBid doesn't draw from the bottom of the barrel. As I said before, you'll get the same cigars as if you ordered from CI, even the boxes and baggies say Cigars International.

Sometimes you'll find a great deal on there. Boxes from CBid are the best deal. Never buy singles on CBid.

Yes, Cbid is run by Satan and his minions. I don't know exactly what a minion is, but I hope I can afford a couple of them one day.

Like the senior members said, CI is a substantial company. In my experience with them, they have always backed their product. They can't afford to lose a customer with the razor thin margins they operate on. *cough*

As far as shipping, the 5-packs and mazos are sealed in a zippy (complete with smoker dude logo) and then boxed with your other uncontrolled, impulsive, budget-busting purchases.
I have mine shipped on Thursdays. The package arrives on Tuesday... when my GF is away...

Hey, spiffy, can you elaborate on this comment? Just wondering...

Singles on CBid just aren't worth it to me. The ones that go for normal prices I can find at my B&M and not pay shipping. The hard to find ones go for well above retail and if I worked at it, I could probably find them for retail. There are exceptions, but I just stay away from singles on CBid all together.

I go there to find a box at a great price, or to get a 5'er of something new. A lot of times cigars will show up on CBid before they are available from CI.

Lately I've been stopping myself from even looking at the site since I don't need to buy any more cigars at the moment.

That makes sense, spiffy. I thought there may be a quality problem. Your observation about pricing on premium labels seems accurate to me - not only on singles, but on packs and boxes. If you look around, there are often better overall deals (like free shipping, bonus cigars, free stuff, etc.)

*sigh* Cbid... I should probably put a block on that domain.

    Good answer, though. Thanks again.

Agree with once per week shipping. Gets you reduced shipping on multiple listings.

but by doing that... what are you doing? I mean.. is that just so you dont get packages every other day, or is it a shipping $ thing? I mean, would you only select that cause you bid on things as such high volumes?

CBid has a shipping savings program. They charge less if you win multiple items and ship them together once a week.

Make sure you bid less than what it sells for retail. People get overcome by cigars that retail for $15-$20, and not realize they can get it for $4-$5. Supply and demand. Some cigar brands sell for retail because it is in high demand, but there are a lot of so called "premium" cigars out there not worth their retail price, and it reflects it when you see something at a low bid price too good to pass up.

    Good luck.

i also agree. i to have been scammed by them. if you bid, research the retail value and put the maxium bid lower, but never go higher.

Yeah thats what I did on the two 5 packs I got... I got a really good deal, 15 dollars off one, and almost 20 dollars on the next one...

I mean, ebay has taught me, you dont want to get in a pridefull bidding situation over a 5 dollar item and start bidding over 10 and 15 bucks..

Wow, this is great timing. Was wondering how i was going to explain to mamma how i spent a couple hundred last weekend on cigars. Now I can confirm that the devil does it and i am not the only victim. I am smoking my first 5 Vegas A thanks to them and very happily. Also noticed some bidders must really be dedicated because they go way above retail sometimes. Happy bidding from South Carolina.

Perhaps we should start a Cigar Bidders Support Group!
