Default Beetles in my c-bid shipment

well i got my latest shipment today and while inspecting my new sticks i noticed tracks on one of my cigars (and a pinhole eaten thru cigar and cello on another) in the Occidental Havana Sun-Grown by Kelner Robusto (5-Pack) i got and 2 visible (dead it seems) beetles encased in the cello. well my stuff imediately went in the freezer. have sent a help message to c-bid and am waiting on a reply.

was wondering if anyone else ever got beetles from CI / C-Bid ?

Yikes! Yeah, I got a beetle bag once from those guys. It happens.
I would pick up the phone and tell them right away. They replaced mine with no questions asked.

Yes, it happens. That's why I have a special humidor for quarantining cigars for a few weeks so I can make sure they're not going to infest my current large selection of cigars. I can't afford to have to throw away all those cigars, thus the caution.

Good point CNB. That's good policy to put into practice. I feel more safiness already.

Do you find this is more likely in Summer months or is it just random?

It happens year round from what I've heard.

My resolution was similar. As it turned out, I missed one of the beetle sticks and failed to send it back with the others. I figured, "What the heck. May as well fire it up." Picture a big, fat Churchill size maduro... with a bunch of holes in it. Right. It was like trying to play a burning clarinet. Stupid... just stupid.

Don't smoke any cigar with beetle holes. They tunnel in, eat tobacco, and leave behind beetle shit. The beetle shit makes the cigar taste like..., well...., shit.

I started freezing all incoming sticks a couple of years ago. Anything that comes into the house gets vacuum packed and a 3 day sub zero holiday, two days in the fridge and 4 (minimum)weeks in a seperate humidor before going into the general population.
I don't know if this helps, but I've not yet had an outbreak and no one has ever complained about sticks I've given to them. So if nothing else, it makes me feel better. lol
