OK I will take it that since it was under my reply on page 3 of this thread that perhaps i am the one that doesn't have enough history to be trusted to participate. No Biggie, however would like to point out i am not trying to scam. Just got back from a year in Baghdad (hence the pic with IBA on and Groucho Marx mask my son sent me) and thought this sounded fun. Actually kinda of amusing that people are peered out of a Secret Santa. You sirs, shall go on the naughty list. Have fun guys, except for SLCRaiders who peered out a fellow soldier who just returned (Think i mentioned this in my first post about the importance of sending sticks to guys in Iraq). If slkr4life must bow out, then I too must respectfully bow out of this. I must say, I was really looking forward to impressing my SS (had a really good idea for an extra and everything). I wasn't ever really sure about all this internet trade, but I was willing to take a chance, it being the holidays and all. It is sort of a shame that you guys feel that all first timers shouldn't be allowed to participate, but I understand that rules are rules, so I am willing to comply out of respect.

Didn't want to be a downer just wanted to point out that working seven days, fifteen hours a day for a year puts a damper on searching out cigar forums and chatting. Even the wife had the ass i didn't chat with her enough. I tried to keep my reply light and friendly but Drew your reply was pretty unnecessary and shows little character. Too bad because you seem to be great when talking and trading cigars.

As i tried to say to begin with, have a good time guys. Just wanted to make sure i wasn't lumped in with the other gentleman that seemed to be a legitimate scammer. I don't post much but do enjoy the information.

People there let folks just walk in off the street, with zero credibility, and have all the rights and respect that folks who have put in the time to earn it have. Well, just this past week a well known scammer, using a new name, who promised he wasn't a scammer, took them for a shit ton of cigars. Now, the forum owner and all his little fanbois are trying to justify their own stupidity. Well, that won't happen here. Why? Because we hold your feet to the fire until you prove yourself. If that gets you all butt hurt, to bad. I am sure you can find the door.

Wow. I am pretty sure I was respectful in my motion to decline. Shagaroo, let it be noted that both slkr4life and myself voluntarily declined to participate in this "Secret Santa." Additionally let it be noted that nowhere in the rules placed in this thread does it say that one must have a verified history of cigar trading. The request to not include first time traders was made after both myself and slkr4life signed up. After slcraider's posting we both declined when we could have easily stayed on like cowards instead of calling ourselves out. I can't speak for anyone but myself on the fact that I am not here to make enemies or to start any problems, but your reaction was slightly uncalled for, at least in your tone and choice of words. Although you don't know me and I don't know you, I would hope that you could afford me the common courtesy and respect that I have tried to show to all of you.

Jfellows was exactly right in his response......what you post is what you are saying to all of us. Just relax, participate in some passes (if you meet the requirements), post some cigar content, host a contest, etc......find someone to trade with (newbie sampler is great for this) you will build rep, and be accepted quicker than you think, but it really all depends on you.

This doesn't have to be a big deal koolhandk.

We seem to have got off on the wrong foot here. I understand you guys need some to have some knowledge of who a person is before letting them participate in something like this. All I was doing was trying to find out what it is I could do and hopefully make this years secret santa. If there is nothing, than Ill have to just wait untill next year, and work my way up form the bottom. I will start out small trades etc. As for my age and all that other stuff, my birthday is 12/23/88. That makes me 18, in New York, it is 18 to buy, posses and smoke tobacco. Maybe thats not what it is in other states, Im not sure. As for the the other birthdates, when i joined those forums I wasnt 18, so i chaged the date. Probably wasnt the best idea in the world. If theres anything else that needs to be cleared up I will happily do so. Sorry to cause such a problem.

I am guessing you were the kid in the corner at school that was constantly picked on and have now found solace sitting behind a monitor and keyboard saying whatever you want without having to worry about getting your ass kicked. I can respect that as you probably have no other choice for dealing with people. For all I know you could be a swell guy outside of your mom's basement. However, no one will ever know this until you learn tact.
