    Default La Aurora Preferidos

I wanted to get some feed back on some sticks. I thought I would hook myself up with a box of the “La Aurora Preferidos” These are the ones in the tubes. They come with a pretty hefty price ($270 a box)
Before I hand over the hard earned cash I wanted to see what the rest of you thought about these. Like Em? Hate Em?
    Let me know…

Only tubo I have smoked is the gold corojo. It was something else. Most complex cigar I have smoked. It was like $17 at a local b&m and that's tough to pay for a little figurado. It started out a little sour and dull, but then it went nuts. Changing flavor & intensity throughout. Got a little light headed one time. Had it with a Bass draft and I think a Mich Ultra Amber. Not a day I'll forget. The night saw me smoking some milder sticks than usual after that little ride. Got a couple of maduro and cameroons aging for about 6 months now. Scared of the corojo. The others too I guess.

Which one are you interested in? I have had the platinum and ruby. Both were very good smokes. Platinum is the cameroon and the ruby is the maduro. I would suggest picking up a treasure box so you can try them all before picking up a box.

Great Idea about getting the Treasure Box... My local shop does not sell em. Anybody got some info on where I can find one?

I would like to try the Ruby, Sapphire and the Green.

Be careful when you buy the sample boxes though. Some have all different tubos, but some have two of the same (there is one I recall that has 5 tubos, but it's like 2+2+1).

    MM,

Tell me if you decide to get a box or what not. I may want to trade you for one. I have yet to try any from the line. Thanks.

I found the sampler at my local shop. Tried 'em and liked 'em, but I'm not sure about the pricing. I paid around 14 bucks each all told. It seems like there are quite a few good smokes at that price point and below. The packaging is very cool though.

On a related note, has anyone tried the TNT alternatives to this brand?

You can't go wrong with one of these. My absolute favorite is the emerald. At $17 it's a luxury smoke but I still try to have at least one a month.
There's only two kinds of cigars, the kind you like and the kind you don't.

    Default Mr. Pollock...Master Bomb Maker

Mr. Pollock you are a man among brothers…BOTL that is. I opened the front door today to find a box addressed to me. Inside was a nice little bomb from Dustin.

All I can say is THANK YOU!!! In fact I can’t say it enough. You really went above and beyond and I appreciate you taking the time to put together such a great sampler for me.

    Cheers to you my friend

Have you had the maduro (ruby) cnb? I haven't and am interested in how it compares to the rest of the line.

Smoked a Aurora Preferidos “Sapphire” that Dustin was nice enough to hook me up with. What an interesting smoke, Very complex flavors. This smoke lit and burned well and even throughout. The first tastes I got from this stick were a Peppery, Spicy one. When I say spicy I mean like Hot and Spicy almost like hot sauce. I have never had this kind of a taste with a cigar before, it was kind of cool. I remember a while back Chris saying he smoked a stick in the bath and it made him sweat. Well that’s what happened with this smoke, it made me sweat! Also kind of cool, again I have never had a cigar make me sweat. By the way it was in the low 40s here today so I know it was the cigar making me sweat and not the weather.

After the first half of the cigar the spiciness turned into this cream kind of a taste. Strong but not harsh. What a GREAT SMOKE! What a GREAT experience. Thanks once again to Dustin for giving me the opportunity to experience this smoke. If you haven tried the “Sapphire” …Do so, it will not disappoint.

Ashauler, you said you have had the “Ruby” of this line, was the flavor as complex and strong as I experienced with the “Sapphire”

I had my first sapphire recently also. Definitely a GREAT smoke. I burned my fingers trying to get the last puff.

I agree with your review regarding the complexity of the smoke, but the only smoke that ever made me sweat was the LFD double liegro chisel smoked early in the morning on a belly full of coffee.....the sweating was quickly followed by another form of fluid loss that I don't soon want to experience again.
