Thread: house brand bundles

    Default house brand bundles

so as a college student and a newb i have been purusing some random cigar mags i recieve at my house. I was wondering if any of the house brand cigars were worth anything. They can be had at excellent prices and i was curious as to whether this was because they were un-popular, or because they were cheap dog rockets. personally i have had some Thompson Tuskers and found them tastey. Any others, or maybe bundles to look for?

Probably will have to have some names. I'm sure some folks could help you out. Maybe Kevin will chime in, he smokes a box and a half plus 13 cigarillos a day, so he knows the best bang for the buck.

Try the Flor de Oliva - great bundle cigar.

Famous Nicaraguan 3000 series. Great reviews. I've had only one, but it was a great stick for about 2 bux

Ah, I forgot about these. Yes, I got a bundle a couple months ago. Very good cigar. Kinda on the full side ... extreme medium even.

those are what actually spawned this thread as i recieved a magazine from CC a while ago and found prices that were awesome, and the cigars looked decent. might have to pick some of those up. Have you seen or know of any of the unmarked bundles featured by CC are any good?

I was wondering the same. I grabbed a few singles from JR's House brands to try out. Supposed to be like Cohiba Alternative, Montecristo Alternative, etc. All the bands just say JR on them so I don't know whats what anymore. I'll just smoke them and see if they are anygood. Also, how about the Thompson House brands? Any particular ones pretty good? I have a sample pack from them and 25 more of their house brand smokes on the way. I hav a Tusker like mentioned about but haven't tried it yet. I have tried a Don Lugo, not too bad but I've had better and I heard from a friend at work that got me into Cigars that the Thompson Pheonix brand is ok.

ALL house brands are made by some major mfgr. Cuban Crafters is a major producer of quality cigars such as some of the Savenilli line and others that you would be shocked to find out.. Oliva Corojo and Maduro bundles are great smokes as well as JR's Cuban Alt EL series,

One of the best cheapie deals out there now is atJR'shttp://www.jrcigars.com/index.cfm?page=deals_lre_08no1

This site is run by a cigar maker and are some tasty cigars for the $ . I personally reccomend the maduro perfectos and the box pressed sungrowns. The site is kinda primitive but its only 3 days old and Paul is a cigar maker not a web guru.

Nah, thats CSX territory. I run from Linwood NC south as far as Kannapolis, East as far as Morehead City, southeast as far as Sanford, West as far as Winston Salem and Roanoke VA, and north as far as Alexandria VA. Good to hear from somebody in NC besides me though!

thanks for the tip/link. Couldn't resist the recommendations. Haven't used CC much, if any, but like the comments and user reviews. Interesting little perfecto (?)

It's good to see Paul has his website up. I second Kevin's suggestions. The maduro perfecto is a good smoke. I have a couple of wheels of the #7 blend. They are young and wet but if you dry them out, they are pretty damn good for 50 cents each. I haven't tried the box pressed yet but they are on my list.

    Those maduros do look tasty!

Although I would be a little hesitant to use my card, not sure how secure the site is. Was hopping paypal was an option or something, but then I see you can use a money order so I might be pickin some up.
