Anything Don Pepin...including Tatuaje.

Hey yall! I've been hearing a lot about Don Pepin Garcia's stuff.....i.e. Don Pepin, Tatuaje, Padilla, etc.....as he's been getting such stellar reviews. The thing is, I've tried several of his cigars on several occasions and I truly don't understand what the hype is about. Sure, the construction of his cigars are nice.....wrapper, triple cap, draw

. But they just don't seem to be something that I'd go outta my way to buy. Does anybody else feel the same way? Or differently? IMHO, I think the Oliva Serie V deserves the hype as well as some lesser known stogies like the new Hoyo De Tradicion. Well, that's it from me. Thanks for the input!

BTW, these are the Pepin cigars I've had: Pepin Blue Label, Troya Clasico, Tatuaje (Brown, White, and Red Labels), San Cristobal, Don Pepin Series JJ.

I wouldn't say I like everything with his name on it, but I do like a number of his cigars, especialy a couple of the Tat Havana VI (red) and the San Cristobal Monumentos and Supremos. I think the Monumento is probably the best new cigar of last year (for me.) I have to say that the other sizes didn't knock my socks off. It seems to me that the different cigars in each line are very different and he puts his name on so much stuff it's hard to try it all. While I think they are all good, I think that only a few are outstanding.

Hey Shelby, the new San Cristobal line definitely is quality stuff. I had the torpedo a few weeks ago and it was one of the more flavorful and complex cigars that I tried in recent memory. As far as solid smokes (Pepin or not), the Troya Clasico is a beaut. But yeah, you're right. Pepin has his hands in on everything right now so it's hard to try everything. Don't get me wrong though..........nothing against Pepin, Pete Johnson, or anybody else. I'm happy for them and their success. In some ways, I think that they add some flair to the cigar industry at a time when anything tobacco is being attacked by the rest of the world. So

for the Pepin's, Padron's, Litto Gomez's of the world!

please dont compare Pepin brands-Pete johnson to Gomez

Pepins are average at best and harsh and raw at worst

i really like Pepins stuff. Tat Noellas are my fav. brown lable, but there are other sizes that didn't do it for me. the same goes for the Fumadores. I really like the robusto but not the toro. I had a San Cristible but it dont do it for me. I beleive that will happen with every line though. Perhaps you haven't found your size yet.
