    Default Luv Ya ROCKETS

Had a hell of a time smoking it up and drinking beer last night at the Smoke Ring with some buds. We watched our beloved Rockets tear the Dallas A-holes a new orifice. For most of the game, our lead was in the double digits, and at one point we were 22 points up.

I finished off the last of my St Arnolds Christmas brew, which they only make during the holidays. It went down very well with the three cigars I had - an Ashton Heritage churchill, an Avo Maduro churchill, finished off with a La Flor Dominicana LG that really hit the spot.

Rockets are now 17-0 in their strreak and have the fifth longest streak in NBA history. Four more games and we will have the 2nd longerst streak in history! We're gonna clobber the Hornets this Saturday so that's one down, three to go!!!

    Default Go Spurs

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yak, Yak, Yak, Brag, Brag, Brag... Sunday March 30 you can watch the Spurs take a little ride on a Rocket.
No, seriously, It's not gonna be pretty. Ginobili's hot, Parker's nearly back to 100%, even Bowen is knockin down 3's.
I like Houston so I kinda feel a little sorry that they're gonna get beat up so bad. Oh well
I'll just smoke a Fuente during the first half and then a Diablo during the 2nd half when things really get ugly.
Heck I'd venture to say that it's going to be close at the half but Rockets will run out of fuel by the 4th period and the Spurs will ride it on home by 8 points.

Sounds like it was a good time. I caught a the first two quarters of the game, and I agree the rockets look very good. However, the victory had to be a little less sweet since dirk was suspended. Still I'm curious to see how long the rockets can keep this streak alive.

Great job to the Rockets. Beating the Mavs in Dallas (even with Dirk-the Jerk out) was good to see. I think the one game suspension was a bit light considering the pull down job Dirk did on Kirelenko in Utah to get the suspension.

Baka, remember the last loss for the Rockets was to my beloved Jazz (not a great road team) in Houston. This is the same team that knocked the Rockets out of the playoffs last year. The West is wide-open and stacked with great teams.

Well the Rockets are on a hot streak, and they're doing it without one of their star players, Yao. They're going to set I record, I smell victory in the air, and boy howdy does it smell Gooooooooooooooood!!!!! They just keep getting better and better and climbing the charts, so look out Spurs, duck and cover Jazz, we are COMING ON SO GET READY FOR A BEAT DOWN!!!!

The Rockets can go on the longest winning streak in league history and it won't matter a bit when TMac and the boys get knocked out in the first round AGAIN.

I have to agree. I don't see the Rockets being a strong playoff team. The streak is impressive (and to be honest, unexpected...where did they come from???). However, I don't see them going far this year.

I haven't watched much b-ball since Jordan retired but it would appear the team to be is the Celtics.

How do they stack up agains the other division leaders?

Regardless of the Rockets recent playoff history, this has been super fun to watch. People in Houston who haven't watched them since the Hakim era are starting to come back to the fold. I was in Jr High when they won their 2 championships and I've been hooked ever since.

The majority of Houstonians couldn't name anyone on the team other than T-Mac and Yao before this but now you hear people talking about Luther Head, Battier, Alston, Hayes, Mutombo (funny how many people are surprised to hear he plays for the Rockets) and our super rookies Landry and Scola.

Plus the fact that they are doing this without Yao is pretty incredible. The Rockets are selling out more games than they have in a while and the city is rallying.

So regardless of the near future for the Rockets, its a good time to be a Rockets fan.

I've been watching, but nothing to crow about, as they pretty much sucked sour frog ass since 1995. So yep, it's a great year to be a Rockets fan.

I love to see the Spurs and Jazz fans giving reasons why the streak is meaningless. Yeah, right, momentum and teamwork have nothing to do with winning games. The Rockets are hot as hell right now, and it's a new team vibe since Yao left, the players are gelling like Magellan and we have multiple threats on the court. You can't guard us when we have half a dozen guys good enough to put up double digit points every game. Go Rockets!! Woo-hoo!! Kick some Lakers ass this weekend!!!!

I think the three games starting with the Lakers this weekend will be the true litmus test for how good the Rockets really are. LA, Boston, and NO is a real tough run of teams to get through.
Don't get me wrong, 20 straight is incredible, but without Yao I still think they're in trouble come playoff time. The big men in a long series are a huge factor in the playoffs and without somebody to counter Duncan, Bynum (if he's healthy), Boozer, even an old worn out Shaq, it's going to be tough for them to match up.

Whoop Whoop!!! Rockets are now 21-0 and now have the 2nd longest win streak in NBA history!!

We still have so many multiple threats that it's gonna be a bitch-slap hard for anyone to keep us from scoring!! And the D looks great as well, even without Yao-man we're keeping the HEAT up on defense!!

And we go up against the Lakers tomorrow - and we're gonna whip some ASS on Sunday!! Go Rockets, Go T-Mac, go Scola, Go Motumbo, go go go!!!!

Look out Western Conference, we are in da HUNT for the top spot, then it's on to the playoffs to kick ass!

And for you Spurs and Jazz fans, this is a different Rockets team than you've faced before. We're on a roll since Yao left, we've mixed it up and this is not the same team it was even as little as one month ago. We're hot, yer not, and we're coming for ya!!!

You might be right about that, the Spurs are really draggin lately. However, all teams come and go during the season. We'll find out next weekend.

    Ok gents.

22-0, 2nd longest streak in NBA history.

10 players able to score in the double digits, make excellent defense and rebounds.....

Held down Kobe Bryant so well in spite of the over-hyped BS we hear bout all the time.

Smacked the Lakersw out of the top spot in the Western.

Props are due by now, doncha think??/

    GO ROCKETS!!!!!!

Props for the streak. A definate achievement regardless- to real off that many wins in a row is amazing for any team. However, I did expect them to win at home against the Lakers. They will prob do the same against Boston. I will give serious props if they can get through the following three road games undefeated. In fact, Baka, I will send you out a congratulatory premium fiver if they can pull these next four games off with their streak intact-

Aw shucks, yer making me blush!!! OK, let's see if they can go 26-0, and if they do, they're within sight of having the #1 longest win streak in NBA history, knocking the Lakers from having the record!!! Woo-hoo!!!!

In reading the post, it seems like there was a lot of posts until Monday....did something happen Tuesday???????? Seriously the "old" Celtics????

J/K folks....it was a great run. I didn't like TMac's comments after the game, trying to down play the streak, as if if they won, he wouldn't have been saying how great the team came together to win.

Rockets started a new streak, and although I'm not a big fan of the team personally, I hope they end it soon.
As big of a basketball fan as I am, I love to watch teams play the way they played while on their run. Great teamwork, unselfish play, lock-down defense and willingness to run the ball...what's not to like?
Unfortunately in the Western Conference, it doesn't take long to go from first to 10th so I hope they can maintain a winning pace the rest of the way out.

In the meantime, I will put up my vote right now that Chris Paul is the MVP this year. He's having one of the best single season's I've ever seen a point guard play.

It's strange how things change, a few years ago, the Hornets were giving tickets away just to fill half of the arena, now this year, I looked for ticket to the Lakers game and they were sold out except for the cheap seats that weren't cheap.
