Thread: To Tube or not to Tube?

  1. Default To Tube or not to Tube?

    Hi All
Just got back from Cuba and along with 25 Monte Cristo 4 I also purchased 50 Romeo Juliet 3s. The Romeos come in tubs and I am curious as to when placed in my little humidor whether they are best kep in tubes?
Also..how often would you suggest rotating? I have the Montes on the top cedar shelf and the Romeos in the bottom. Can't wait till golf season !! :)

Thanks in advance for your help!!

You must live in Canada since it is illegal to buy or possess Cuban cigars here in America.

Leave 'em in the tubes; put 'em in your humidor.

Leave them in the tubes. They don't take up that much more space. PLUS, reuse the tubes if you can. They make great travel cases for cigars.

Tube on, tube off, cello on, cello off, in the cedar coffin, out of the cedar coffin.

I leave them how they come to me. Unless there is a mold issue (ie: last year's Anejos), I don't mess with them. They are shipped that way for a reason.

I personally feel they do not age or taste as good when they are in the tubes...just from my experiences...

I've found that if you leave them in the tubes and just take the cap off of them you can allow them to age well and also be protected from outside elements/flavor mixing. This is just personal experience and ultimately what you do is your preference but like some others said, cigars are packed the way they are for a reason so don't try and mess with them too much.

You're supposed to take them out of the tube before you smoke 'em. Geesh!
