    Default Sending Packages International

Great news fellow BOTLs. Have you ever tried to get a DC# for a package that was being sent international and been turned down every single time? I sent a package out to a fellow Canadian BOTL yesterday and I found out something interesting! No matter how much I pleaded to get a DC#, my PO won't let me get one just because it's international. They just tell me it won't work, even though I was willing to pay for something that won't work.

Anyways, you always have to fill out a customs form when sending packages international. The line was long and I had to fill it out, after paying for it, to the side. After I was done the Postal worker was NICE enough to tell me, "hey, if you would like to track your package, that Customs # can be tracked. Just type that in on the website and you and your friend can track it." Viola!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After numerous packages sent to Canada and one in UK, EVERY single Postal worker failed to mention this, no matter how much I've asked for a DC# to track and make sure the package was received.

I decided to make sure it does work before I posted this Post. I just checked a minute ago, and it does update every evening. WOO HOO!

One of the stores that I deal with always gives me a tracking number when they ship to me here in the great white north. I've just never really payed too much attention to what the number was from, but the tracking does work. Just not always very well, most of the times it stops at "cleared customs".
Just a stay at home dad (retired until I choose otherwise, thanks Canadian Army medical pension) hanging out and enjoying the good life.

I am pretty sure once it clears customs you can track it from the usps.com site using the tracking number.

I've used DC#'s to Canada and they work all the way to the BOTL's door. USPS employees just don't know what they are talking about. But the rule is the rule, and it is on the USPS website.
