In the past, I stated that his products might not be worth the hype and price that they were receiving (in so many words).
This is after trying several tatuaje's (brown, red, white labels), troya clasicos, and dpg blue, black, and white labels. The thing is, I experienced draw and burn issues on a number of these sticks. There was no consistency in quality. A few were good but most were not. Also keep in mind that I bought these smokes from different shops at different times.........so chances are that it wasn't a particular B&M not maintaining proper hum levels or something of the like.
Then recently, I had several DPG's (mostly black label), a Tat Red Label, and some fumadores. And as most of you already know, they were great smokes. The draw was great. The construction was beautiful. The burn was almost perfect (minor touch up here and there). The flavor was typical Pepin.........something that I'm learning to appreciate more and more.
I know some of you might disagree but it almost seems like quality control was stepped up at his factories. Or maybe I just had some bad luck with his cigars in the past. Regardless, I've gotta say that I'm becoming a fan of his products.
Sorry for the rant. Just felt like sharing. I was also curious to see if anybody else had a similar experience. Thanks!
