New hobby, new member, same old questions
Yay, I can finally post.
I've always enjoyed a cigar every once in a while, usually while drinking with my buddies. I never understood why people paid more than a few dollars for a pack of cigars, they all taste the same, right? Yeah, I was an idiot back then. Well, that was a few weeks ago and I'm still an idiot now. But I at least now know that paying for good cigars makes all the difference in the world. No more Swisher Sweets or Philly Blunts for me.
So, I have a bad habit of jumping head first in to any hobby I pick up. I usually find a hobby enjoyable, come to the internet to do research (which is why I joined this forum) and the proceed to spend way too much money on that hobby. Started with my Jeep, then went to guns, now its cigars. I already have a newbie sampler lined up, have a small humidor on order, have some cigars in the mail, and have plans to buy a really nice humidor from cubancrafters.com. Am also considering a coolerdor.
I guess I'll tell a little more about me. My name is Travis and I live in central PA near PSU where I went to college. I enjoy sports, good beer, good company, and good women. Play baseball in the summer. Pretend to go offroading in my Jeep. And I shoot at things with my guns. Notice I said shoot at. I can't say that I always hit 'em. A few weeks ago my buddies and I sat down for some beer and cigars. I forget the brand but they were good. That got me wanting to try a real cigar. Last weekend for the 4th of July, I bought some Ashtons and my brother-in-law bought some Playboy cigars. I really enjoyed the Ashton, so here i am on this forum trying to learn something for you regulars.
My first question: Is it better to have a nice humidor filled with only a few cigars or is it better to have a bunch of nice cigars but no humidor? Kind of like the chicken before the egg thing.
Anyways, it's good to be here and I hope I'll fit in.
