Welcome to the boards from outside of Ottawa.
You're off to a good start with the newbie sampler.
As for whether it's better to start with a nice humidor or nice cigars, that depends, are you ok with having a tupperdor and some beads to store your nice cigars until you get that nice humidor? If you are that's the quickest way to get into it. In the end you probably will want that nice humidor. A tupperdor is just like a coolidor but on a smaller scale.
Personally, I started with a small cheap humidor and a coolidor, now I have a nice humidor and still have the coolidor but am looking at a bigger/another coolidor until I get the time/money to build a walkin humidor in my basement.
It's a slippery slope, some would call it a cliff.
Just a stay at home dad (retired until I choose otherwise, thanks Canadian Army medical pension) hanging out and enjoying the good life.

Welcome to the boards! Hi from the middle of no where in John Day Oregon. I am a noob too. Just got my coolidor set up recently. Will be getting in on a noob sampler too as soon as I have the cash to spare. You will find every one here really good at helping you out with questions. In my opinion you should go for the coolidor as big as you can afford. It is the best bang for the buck. Get some beads and a digital hydrometer. Belonging to this board you can expect to be collecting all kinds of good cigars in short order. Welcome, and I hope you enjoy the boards as much as I do. Roger.![]()

Just another day at the office!
I'm pretty new around here too. I don't even think I was smart enough to offer an introductory email about myself so cheers to you.

Welcome. The best suggestion I can offer is to take your time. Read as much as you can stand and enjoy your smokes. Cigar smoking is not a timed event.
Welcome from MT...there seems to be a bunch of PA people on here so you may be lucky enough to meet some fellow herfers.
