I allways thought a giant Erector set would be fun...
... But I was wrong.
So lately I'v been thinking about building another storage building next to my house. I had the costs figured up and was ready to buy all the stuff, then I came across one of those "metal storage building kits" for a cheep price and it was about the same size I had in mind for the one I was going to build, it also came with a free flooring kit- so I thought.. what could go wrong. I do construction work for a living- carpentering, metal building erection, ect. Well, the floor kit even though labled for the building and strapped to the box from factory was either A not the right one or B the place that built it intended the floor to fit inside of the building the walls would sit on the ground and you would walk in about a foot and then step up onto the floor). Ok, so no big deal.. the floor kit was free, I redid it and built it like a normal floor. So I get the floor finished. Pull out all the parts... all fifteen billion of them. All numbered with four digit numbers so the instrctions read stuff like "connection 3546 to 2444 with 3526 then prop up next to wall while you blow your brains out". After four hours of assemblying flemsy pieces of metal that are "structural pieces" I called it quits. One day building a floor and subframe, four hours of assemablying pieces and what do I have accomplished? I have a floor with a bunch of assembled pieces laying on it. I dont know who the hell came up with these damn things, but they need there ass beat. I invented more new curse words on this than I have in a while on anything. :smiley38: Tomorow i'm going to attemped to finish it. Never again will I buy a building in a box. Fucking yuppies.
Ever Seen The Play Systems?
This reminds me of the story my friend was JUST telling me about.
Anyone ever see one of these play sets before? :

Looks like a simple play set to put together for your kids...right? WRONG!
This thing has about a million different pieces. My friend put it up for his kids in two days (this was with 3 other people, and they worked most of the two days too), but he's heard people having to hire construction crews to put this thing together before....and one crew took about two weeks to do it... :smiley36:
