Looks like this newbie's been had!!

Oh well, nobody likes to admit being had, but while I was researching some supposedly authentic Cubans that I thought I had bought at a reputable shop, I found that 5 "cohiba edicion piramides limitada 2004" were never produced. They were produced in 2001, yet these are banded 2004.
So... I humbly bow my head over and over as quickly as I can in close proximity to the nearest brick wall.
I've noticed lots of people starting out, so I thought I'd post just to verify that it does happen, and the people who do it are good at it. These cigars were purchased at a shop on Grafton St. in Dublin Ireland (near the end - 2nd floor - really appeared high class) and they weren't cheap.
I'm hoping they're decent. Regardless, I'm gonna enjoy them :smiley32: even if I hate them! :smiley38:

...the more I learn, the dumber I get!!! (Yet... this is how it should be, Grasshopper!)
Found the name of the shop
Found a business card. The salesman's name is Nathan Merren.
My recommendation would be to avoid this shop if you are in Dublin.

He's still selling them. There's even a picture under "Cuban Limited Edition Pyramid Selection" at http://www.decent-cigar.com/main.php?mb=oo
Mr. Peat -- Think I'm gonna stay away - I just don't know enough yet.
