No banning for political statments in the political area. I would like to see the name calling cease. It does not further the cause on either side.

IMHO there is not a BOTL here that would not help out another BOTL regardless of his political standing.

Cigar smokers all have something in common...The love of the leaf. I may disagree with Barry on politics...But I would sit down with him and have a smoke and a drink anytime.

Disagree with each other...No problem. Just save the harsh stuff for scammers and thieves.

Barry has proven he's incapable of doing that which is why I would prefer to see him thrown out of here on his ass. Either that or he can cease with his bullshit but that's like asking the sun not to come up ever again or Scotty to act like a human being, it's just impossible which is why I think he should be shown the door.

It's not the message, it's the delivery. Political viewpoints are of no consequence in deeming his posts inappropriate. It is more likely than not that Barry and I will end up voting for the same person for the next president. However, because of his inflammatory posting style I have yet to see anything value in his posts.

As I said before, I haven't asked (even though it seems he is) for a banning poll nor do I plan to. Although politically I lean more to the left than right, I find his position, because of his tone, unsupportable and detrimental to the board environment.

Point taken, However, political discussions can and do get heated. If we all want the political forum, then we need to understand this. It's easy to take a post personally... It's just as easy to ignore it. The only alternative, in my view, is to get rid of the political forum, which I do not want.

I don't like Barry's style of posting. IMHO he posts like an arrogant prick...Not a thief or scammer. He keeps his name calling and abrasive attitude in the political area which is pretty much wide open for all to post in the manner they desire. Politics brings out a passionate side in most folks. Several people have said some things lately that I would hope they regret. It has not bled into other areas of the board...A good thing.

Should it bleed into other areas of the board the issue should be addressed and dealth with.

Do I hope he gets beat up?? No way would I wish that on anybody.

Do I wish he would post in a manner that I would find less arrogant and prickish?? Yep...You bet. His message is lost in all the bullshit he flings.

Wishing Barry physical harm is no way to deal with the issue. The way to deal with it is to keep approaching him with class and dignity.

Ya he is a doctor all doctors are arrogant especially the ones that are licensed to stick a knife into a living thing with the intentions of making it well agian. Barry is one of the few people on this board that could banter toe to toe with the illustrious CC and give the old kitty a challenge. They both are also equal in the potty mouth department and I am not sure if that's more to get a rise out of the readers rather then to get a rise out of their opponent. Anyhow you both are very smart men and your talents arguing about ass-hats in the political arena are somewhat a waste, especially when your trying to make each of the ass-hats and why they are ass-hats relate to the party they belong to. To hell with Democrats and Republicans . Uh no Cinda, there's a huge difference between what most rational people post on this board regarding their political views vs. the outright shit and name calling that Barry posts. Barry post pure hatred and calls all Republicans protectors of child molesters, blah, blah, blah. When people respond to him with rational statements of fact, he immediately starts attacking them personally with a barrage of vulgar personal insults, namecalling, etc. and it goes down hill from there.

Barry is a worthless piece of shit and there is no reasoning with him. As I mentioned earlier, since rational logic clearly is ineffective in his case, the only solution in my mind is that he needs to be beaten senseless by someone whom he unloads his venom and hate on. It's the only solution I can see, either that or jail time. Either way, he's clearly a seriously disturbed individual who desperately needs help. I'm not one who has much confidence in "counseling" and you and I may disagree on that but again, he needs an attitude readjustment and it's not even funny anymore.
