Member moderated, IMHO, would mean that the members would make a call of banning or not banning, and you saw right from the begining, it was "off with his head" and you just let him off with a warning. And also, that policy, is on just about every other board. I'm not knocking this board, I like dropping by, but if you let him off with a warning, it just shows me, you pretty much don't care about the feelings of the black/gay/female posters... while I'm non of the above, it still makes me sick that you didn't ban him. You apparently were not around when the membership jumped at even the mention banning a member.

hex man don't sweat it you did what you should have imho. you sat back and came to a rational decision free of anger. thinking before you take action is very admirable. as an admin you needed to take time to get as many member reactions as possible to come to a fair decision. the majority of members felt he should be banned nd now he has been. you listened to what the populace wanted good going.

pretty sure this whole thing has stressed hex out a bit and no one ever wants to have to ban members. i say the guy has done enough and if you don't think so and tcmm happens to lie his way back in, the members will make it a pretty unhappy place for him. not to mention every has an option in their user cp to ignore a particular member. how great is the net.

Hex, in my opinion you have handled this situation 100% perfectly! I couldn't of done it better myself. I would just stick to your guns and don't let all these people get to you. You know, SC - maybe you're right. It's not that the reader is having difficulty understanding your words - it's what you are writing that is causing the confusion. First of all, I would concentrate more on spelling and sentence structure (a great place to check your spelling is here: Dictionary dot com . Then I would think about putting your thoughts in a more logical sequence. Finally, take out the sentences that are "fluff" intended to elicit a comedic response (being sarcastic). The way the above paragraph is written, it can easily be mistaken as tacit support for Manix - and I for one am having a lot of difficulty trying to see that you didn't intend it to be that way... So maybe I'm wrong - write it so I understand it...

And the last part says quite a bit about your feelings in this matter...

Maybe you meant to say that Manix should write his posts more clearly? Or maybe you meant that he was forced to write something that was uncomfortable to him because he was feeling the pressure from other members and did not do a good job of it. I'm not sure. I don't see how I could misread any of that... And if that was what you're saying, even the follow up post Manix made was barely better than the first post. Threadjack--the historicity of Hitler actually having Jewish heritage is up in the air still. There is no doubt that his grandfather had an adulterous relationship with their Jewish maid, but there is no legitimate historical evidence that Hitler's father/mother was the result of that infidelity. I'm not sure whether it was Hitler's father's father or mother's father, but that doesn't make a difference since the evidence itself is not all in yet. That's just the historian in me :smiley2:
