Thanks for the comment. I was happy to do it. What new people don't realize is that the people participating in this were once newbies and actually participated as newbies before. I remember when I first started and I signed up for a newbie package, CgarDan sent me an amazing package. I felt I needed to give back to the site and the people. This benefits newbies more than the BOTLs giving the samplers. If anything, we just enjoy when people open up their package and are blown away.

Dustin, glad you enjoyed your package. Make sure you store those cigars in your humi for a while. It was drastically cold here on the east coast. I'm sure the little water-pillow helped.

We now have 2 BOTLs who are willing and able to do a newbie sampler with our Newbies from the North (Canada), so don't shy away if you live up there.

May be slow, but I generally stumble forward. The Newbie Sampler sounds like a brilliant opportunity to experience a logically selected collection of good smokes. Still worried about that sex, food, smoke sequence - they were think of sex with another person

Looks like CgarDan drew the short straw, PM on the way

    Cheers,

    Hi All

I've been keeping track of the package going to WOXOF and it looks like UPS took the scenic route

I am now waiting to see what he's sent me, I can't hardly wait!

WOXOF has been real good to deal with!

It looks like Cabaiguan Juan is going to take care of Fat Freddy. I still haven't heard anything from fallen.

I could really use some help in terms of trying out new cigars.

It looks, according to the opening post, that WOXOF has a trade pending, so I will be sending FunkyCold5 a PM.

    This is really cool.

I contacted CgarDan a week or so ago just to let you know about a trade. He has not responded so there is nothing set up as of yet so I guess he is still next on the list until something changes.

You may want to contact the next guy up. CigarDan is probably busy with the new job. I think he will understand. Just update the thread with what is going on so spiffykyle can edit the first post.

    Hi there!

I would be interested in this as well sometime soon. I am a newbie to the site, and to cigars as well. I have been smoking cigars only for a few months. A variety of stuff to try would be great.

No hurry, however; my very small humidor is totally full. How much room should I make for this sampler? Is this is a 25-cigar sort of thing, or a fifty, or whatever is agreed upon at the time of arrangement? Either is fine with me; I just need to know whether I should wait for more room in the humidor or just pick up another one. My budget would comfortably allow up to a ~$70 purchase sometime in the next few weeks.

Sorry for the ignorance, and I apologize if these questions are obvious or have been covered already.

BTW, you guys are generous to have set up something like this. It's a fabulous idea.

    EDITED TO ADD:
It just occurred to me I could just buy a decent cigar jar and sent it along to have the sampler put into it. Is that a good idea?

Read Q&A #3 from the first post. The people on the list are as trustworthy as they come. Reading back through all the old threads I don't think a BOTL has ever skipped out on a newbie. It's not a risk, its an investment. I think I still have a few sticks from my newbie sampler.

The idea with this sampler is so that a new guy can do a trade or purchase from an established, trusted member. There is absolutely no risk with the newbie sampler.

My trade with sammis is going smooth. I have the tracking info for my end, set to arrive on the 11th. His end will go out the same day. Great communication so far.
