Spiffy, what size 5V Gold did you find to be unpleasant? I've only had the belicoso size and the double robusto size, but I've had probably 30 of each, and I've enjoyed every single one.

Camacho Corojo line. Had one last night and tried to give it a honest take. Well, my honest opinion is: It sucked!![]()
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -unknown
Acid Kuba Kuba
personally partagas robusto, don't know if it was the cigar or the fact that it was -21 F (windchill when i smoked it.

If you could smoke piss..........this is what it would taste like.
That's f'n funny
Does a golfer piss in the woods?
The problem is, cigars change from batch to batch. Lot's of mid-priced cigars go from great to gross when you buy the next box. All short-filler cigars I've tried (with the exception of Cohiba Pequinos) have no consistency at all, so don't buy 'em.
With expensive smokes, your best bet is to go and sample a single cigar from a box at a shop that lets you smoke in a lounge. If that cigar is good, buy the box. This can be easier said than done since most places want to sell unopened boxes. In that case, buying a box from the same shipment still has better odds of having the same quality.
Also, some cigars get better with aging, while others get worse. I had some no-name maduros that were complete shit, but tasted decent after a years aging. I also had some mild Corojo wrapped cigars that started off as a nice mild smoke, but ended up flavorless after a year and a half in the humi.

Morro Castle. Terrible flat taste, almost malty. Construction, even after 2 weeks in perfect conditions, was terrible, with the wrapper flaking and coming apart. The worst was the burn, which was so uneven I almost could not tell which part of the cigar was the lit end. A complete disaster. I had to toss it after the first third, and even then I was really trying to give it a chance because I'm a cheap bastard. I give it a big fat zero out of ten score.

A very long list........ but firts on mind - Acid and Arganese. Will never carry either at the store.
I would not recommend:
St. Luis Rey Reserva Especial Serie G Churchill: What a letdown. It had so much promise! Big, dark in color, it smelled good, the wrapper was firm, but I felt like I was fighting it to smoke it while my fiancee sat across from me enjoying my favorite cigar.
I was very unimpressed with a Helix I had the other day on a whim.
Courage is rightly esteemed the first of human qualities... because it is the quality which guarantees all others.

At the risk of being humiliated back to the stone age, I didn't mind the Hav-A-Tampa Jewels (didn't they have the wooden tips?) when I was in high school and didn't know any better. I think we also enjoyed Backwoods as well.
Kinda goes hand in hand with Boone's Farm, Thunderbird, and MD 20/20.
