Thread: Bohica

  1. Default Bohica

Last night was the night of the BOHICA. We got hit by another killer tornado in Jackson...The third one in 10 years. Two people were killed in the storm.

Union University had 1300 residents on campus when it hit...55 were injured with no deaths. 30 million dollars worth of damage was done to the campus at last estimate. The damage runs from one side of the county to the other...About 25 miles. We had approximately 25 tractor trailers flip over on I-40.

The damn thing missed my house by a quarter of a mile.

I'm going back to bed now...I've got another 12-16 hour day ahead of me starting at 1900 tonight.

    sarge,

That same line of storms ripped through Southeastern TN this morning. We had 15 killed in neighboring Pisgah, Al. Scary stuff.

It is terrible when one of these storms visits you up close and personal......complete devastation in a matter of seconds. The power and sheer ferocity is unimaginable.

That lives were lost makes it a true tragedy. I will add the residents of your areas that were affected by the storms to my prayers.

Them same fuggers ripped through here and tore up all kinds of stuff. Fortunately all we lost were a few tree limbs. Not everyone was as fortunate. Lots of damage to the surrounding area. Trees and houses can be replaced but the loss of a loved one cannot. My thoughts and prayers are with the victim's families that were affected by this.

Glad to hear you are ok Ken. I know you guys got the worst of it.

My sister was lucky too. She lives by Rhodes College in Memphis...No damage.

I watched the tornado blow into Memphis on TV from WREG's sky cam. That was a trip.

Ken, glad to hear you are ok and got by with a near miss. I still remember in 2004 when Alison was dumping rain on us for three days straight. I watched the water crawl up to my house as I wondered why my dumb ass never bought flood insurance. Hang in there, and good luck to you and yours.

A very grim Ash Wednesday (weather wise) for sure. I too am glad you did not get hit, Ken. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and families of those impacted by the tornadoes...

Progress is being made. We now have all the roads clear so the utility companies can do their thing.

We are doing heavy patrols of the areas hit to keep down looters and such.

Me and my guys are tired but there is light at the end of the tunnel. The President is comming in to look at the damage. That looks good on the surface but it only adds to the problems at hand. It takes away manpower from what really needs to be done to work security for him....Guess he will turn loose a few Fed $$ to help with reconstruction after he views the scene.
