Default Spring Premium Cigar Draft 2010

    Ok kiddies here it is.

(*plagiarized from DG, prophetic_joe and Ash.)

    Spring Premium Cigar Draft 2010

The Godfathers of Cigar Drafts ricmac25 & gatorsmg at Cigar Snobs came up with this idea and I'm just a poor schlep continuing it here.

This is a pass of sorts but done in a fantasy football draft style.

    # of participants
You just need to be a CigarSmokers member in good standing(at my and the "regulars" discretion) and here longer then a month. I will allow as many people who what to play join!

    # of sticks to play
5 sticks. This is a Premium cigar draft so I'm putting the minimum price at $7/stick. If you have any question about a stick post it and if no one says anything with in two days then it's good to go. Check and compare prices Here to get an idea of what your smoke is worth. I will be double checking anything that I or another feel might be under the minimum.

    How it will work
Everyone playing will submit 5 sticks to the draft. These sticks should be posted in the draft thread (Please wait two days before sending sticks for review. If no one says anything then mail away.).

All sticks will be mailed to me along with $4.80 ,cash is fine, to help with my shipping costs back to each participant.(If a brother from up North wants in I'll figure out the shipping with him via PM) Once all sticks have been received I will post a list of all cigars in the draft. We will make our selections just as in a fantasy football draft ie: if there are five players each player chooses any one stick per turn in this order 1,2,3,4,5,5,4,3,2,1 etc. I will put all of the participants names in a hat and draw them one at a time, the 1st drawn being first to pick in the draft and so on. After each selection is made it will be posted in the thread and the next person will make their selection.

So it's basically a pass but instead of taking your turn and then seeing something you would have liked to try pop up later when it's too late you get to see ALL of the possibilities up front. Of course the hard part is deciding which sticks are a "priority for you".

Depending on how many people join the draft, I might impose a time restriction for picks to be made. If you won't be able to make a choice but don't want to be skipped, I have no problem if you get in contact with another member of the draft and give them a list of your choices in order of priority so that they may make the pick for you if that stick is available.

If you said you're in in my gauging interest thread sign up again in this thread and post your puts for judgment.

I actually stole the idea from Diesel Grinch when I did mine so all credit for Cigar Drafts on smokers can really trace their roots back to his first one. The rules have been plagiarized from him ever since.

On a totally separate note these things are tons of fun and I would love o participate however time and funds do not permit. I strongly encourage anyone who has not been involved in one to this point to do it however.

    Sweet. My puts:

    1. God of Fire 2006 Carlito Churchill
    2. Monte No. 2 (OCT08)
    3. Trinidad Coloniales (SEP08)
    4. Camacho 10th Anniversary 11/18
    5. RyJ Belicoso (MAY08) -- the average on cigarcyclopedia is currently $7.65, but I actually paid $6.92 for this smoke -- so if anyone wants to object to this put, I'll gladly go back to the humi to find something different.

I would like to participate, but the time frame doesn't work for me. I will be gone from June 14th - August 10th. If the picks go past the 13th, I would be happy to take whatever is left over, but then shipping becomes an issue. If you wouldn't mind, logan, would you or someone else be able to hold onto my picks until August? If not and that would complicate things too much or anyone is uncomfortable with it, I completely understand.

I have no problem holding on to your pack until you return home. My main concern is you making picks. I am expecting that the picks will go on beyond the 13th. Most of the fun of these drafts is deciding which cigars you want and actually making your picks. I'm assuming, by your concern of the schedule, that you wont have internet access while you're away to make your own picks. If you really want in, I suppose you can send someone a list of the cigars you want and they can post your picks, depending on what's available. That is, if there are no objections from other draft members.

I don't have any objection, and I would almost require that people share their lists to keep it moving.
